Discussion Night on Reparative Therapy; or, Can you
change gay people into raging heterosexuals?
Several conservative pundits have been espousing the value of
reparative therapy, which claims to change gay folks into
heterosexuals. We thought it might be nice to discuss a recent academic
paper that claims this therapy works to learn more about these
arguments. As well, we've invited Tim Strauman, a professor from
psychology, and Robin Burhke, a psychologist at CAPS, to serve as
resources for the discussion.
-
Discussion night on recent pheremone study!
We thought it would be fun to have a low-key event where we discuss the
recent
paper that found biological differences in how gay men responded to
pheromones compared to straight men and straight women. Kevin LaBar, a
Duke professor of neuroscience, joined us as a resource for our
discussion.
