The office of Judicial Affairs, part of the Dean of Students Office, is responsible for holding undergraduate students accountable for academic and non-academic violations of university policy flowing from the Duke Community Standard or honor code. This office receives complaints regarding student misconduct and implements the judicial disciplinary process. The office also serves as an advocate for and resource to student victims of crime, illness, harassment, or other crises.

The Division of Student Affairs promotes and enriches students' education through teaching, mentoring, advising, and counseling by way of on-going direct contact with students in their every day lives. Student Affairs educates students in community living, social intelligence and responsibility, ethical behavior, citizenship skills and social justice, appreciation of the arts, leadership skills, coping with adversity, health and wellness, diversity, and adaptive skills for living. The division is comprised of more than 300 employees spanning 22 departments on West, East and Central campuses.

Residence Life and Housing Services works to make each student's residential experience positive; the office is available help you make this time here a positive living experience. While RLHS will strive to provide outstanding living and learning experiences, it is the student's responsibility to be familiar with and understand the community expectations. The overarching goals include providing experiences and facilities that promote positive living communities and help elevate the intellectual climate of campus beyond the classroom. Residence Life and Housing administers policies and procedures that help manage Duke’s student living environments.

The central mission of the Office of Graduate Student Affairs is to enhance the quality of graduate student life by working closely with individual students, student organizations, faculty, and other campus offices. The aim is to provide a broad array of programs on issues related to graduate student life such as health, safety, housing, mentoring, and professional development. GSA also has a role in establishing support services that address the specific needs of students from different ethnic backgrounds, international students, gay and lesbian students, students with disabilities, women, and other groups. This office is committed to helping students become active participants in the Duke University community.
Center for LGBT Life

The Center for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Life provides education, advocacy, support, mentoring, and space for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, and straight-allied students, staff, and faculty at Duke, as well as alumni/ae and members of neighboring communities. Through its services, the Center for LGBT Life presents educational, cultural, and social opportunities for all students, faculty, staff, and alumni/ae to challenge intolerance and to create a more hospitable campus climate.
Duke University Women’s Center

The Duke University Women's Center fosters diverse learning and living environments that are safe and empowering for all women and men in the Duke community. The Center has, in the past, provided programming in both educational and entertaining areas relevant to the Duke community, such as panel discussions on topics ranging from men in feminism to eating disorders, book readings by authors such as Mariam Grace Monfredo, discussions with NOW President Patricia Ireland, car repair workshops, financial planning sessions, long distance relationship workshops, and massage therapy classes.
The Center also houses the Office of Sexual Assault Support Services (SASS), located on Duke's West Campus. The SASS office employs full time professional staff, several part time student staff member and has numerous volunteers who work and are dedicated to preventing sexual and relationship violence on campus and to supporting survivors in our community.
Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)

CAPS provides confidential evaluation and brief counseling/therapy for students whose concerns range from developmental issues to serious psychological concerns. Some students come only for consultation about how to help a friend or family member. CAPS offers many services to Duke undergraduate, graduate, and professional students, including brief individual counseling/psychotherapy, consultation, couples and group counseling, and assistance with referrals. CAPS helps Duke students enhance strengths and develop abilities to deal with the experiences of living, growing, and learning at Duke. Any problem that is troubling a student is an appropriate one to talk over with a CAPS counselor.

The Disability Management System serves as a central clearinghouse on disability-related information at Duke University and Duke University Health System. Some of the services provided by DMS include:
Accessibility Maps of the campus and health facilities highlighting accessible paths of travel, parking and entrances for individuals with disabilities
Assistive Technologies & Equipment to accommodate individual needs
Implementing the Duke Accommodations Procedures; these procedures provide clear instructions on how to initiate physical, psychological or learning disability-related requests for work or academic accommodations.

Under the auspices of the President, The Office for Institutional Equity (OIE) provides institutional leadership in sustaining a respectful and inclusive environment. Administrative responsibility for implementing the Duke University Harassment Policy rests with OIE. The office provides a range of services to employees, managers, senior leaders and students that ensure access to employment and educational opportunities, coordinates federal and state compliance efforts, and facilitates learning opportunities for the Duke community.
