Beth Morton, T'11

Beth Morton is a senior in the Trinity College of Arts and Sciences from Cleveland, Ohio. She is a chemistry major, biology minor, and pre-med. Her ultimate goal in life is to become a doctor. Last semester she shadowed a
dermatologist in Duke Hospital and really enjoyed it. She is currently applying to medical school. Besides being in her books, Beth enjoys mentoring young girls through a program called Future Is Now (FIN). Beth also did a pre-
orientation program called Project BUILD during the summer preceding her matriculation at Duke. She has continued to be involved in BUILD throughout her career at Duke by being a crew leader. BUILD is an acronym for
Building Undergraduate Involvement in the Life of Durham. She highly recommends it to incoming freshman because it allowed her to make friends prior to orientation and get acquainted with some of the service opportunities
that are available in the Durham community. During her free time Beth enjoys hanging out with her friends and family, going to the movies, shopping, and going to sporting events.

The Reginaldo Howard Scholarship has a meant a lot to Beth. With the enrichment funding that has been made available to her by the scholarship program, Beth was able to shadow doctors in Argentina last summer.
Furthermore, some of the strongest personal connections Beth has made while being at Duke have occurred as a result of the Reginaldo Howard Scholarship. For example, some of her best friends at Duke are also Reginaldo
Howard scholars. The Reginaldo Howard Scholarship has most definitely been a great asset to Beth, both from a professional and a spiritual perspective.
