Nikia is a Trinity freshman from Newtown, Connecticut. Coming into Duke, she was positive that she wanted to be Mathematics major. However, upon discovering the many academic routes at Duke, she is now entertaining majors ranging from Mathematics, to Political Science, to Environmental Science. Other than being a Reginaldo Howard Scholar, Nikia participates in Dance Slam and the Center for Race Relations. After graduation, Nikia plans to attend Law school and work in Washington D.C. Nikia has thoroughly enjoyed her freshman experience at Duke so far, and is looking forward to see how her career develops over the next few years. She is especially proud to be a Reginaldo Howard Scholar, and is thankful for the opportunities and support it has given her.
