About HSA
The Hindu Students Association at Duke University is dedicated to providing a forum for members of the Duke community to learn about Hinduism. Our goals include facilitating spiritual development among our members as well as increasing awareness of Hinduism on our campus. At the same time, we hope to provide a space for students seeking to continue religious practices that they have been raised with, in a community setting. We welcome all members of the Duke community, regardless of their religious beliefs, to all of our activities. Founded in 1997, our organization is now a major campus association, celebrating Hindu festivals throughout the year. We have regularly scheduled events, celebrations of Hindu festivals, and coordinate Hinduism Awareness week each Spring Semester.
Weekly Discussion
Gray Building Room 200, Sundays 12-1 PM
HSA meets weekly for an informal discussion. We usually begin with simple meditation exercises, then casually discuss a passage from the Gita or current events impacting our lives. No experience or knowledge is necessary to participate, and we welcome people from all religions and backgrounds.
