The John Hope Franklin Humanities Institute is housed
in the John
Hope Franklin Center, a beautifully-renovated 1940s-era
building in the heart of the larger Duke University/Duke Medical
Center complex. The building includes office space, meeting and
classroom space, an art gallery, informal gathering areas and lounges,
and several kitchens, including one outfitted for use by caterers.
Leading-edge technological facilities in the building include capabilities
for videoconferencing, webcasting, and classroom use of a number

Location:
The Franklin Center is located in the renovated Hanes Annex at 2204
Erwin Road on the northwest corner of the intersection of Trent
Drive and Erwin Road, near Duke Hospital. Approximate walking time
from Duke's West Campus is ten minutes. We are also on the TTA (Triangle
Transit Authority) bus line: 919.549.9999 or www.ridetta.org.
