Seminar Conveners will issue each September a Request
for Proposals for the subsequent academic year’s Seminar.
Franklin Humanities Institute Director Srinivas
Aravamudan and the Faculty Co-Conveners will review applications
along with a faculty committee of former fellows of the Seminar.
Criteria include excellence of the application, the match with the
Seminar topic, and the mix and diversity of the Seminar participants.
Recommendations from the selection committee will be forwarded to
the Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences who will make the final
determinations. Decisions on faculty applications will be announced
in mid-January.

- A proposal of approximately 750 words
that describes:

Your own current research projects

Your teaching goals and (for faculty applicants) proposed new
courses that you anticipate will arise from your participation
in the Seminar. All Faculty Fellows must commit to developing
two new courses inspired by work in the Seminar to be taught
over the next five years.

The connections between your research project and the Seminar
theme. How does your scholarly research contribute to this topic?

Your complete curriculum vitae
highlighting elements particularly related to the Seminar theme,
as well as a one-paragraph biographical summary.
