Duke beats George Mason 4-3
WASHINGTON, DC -- The Duke University Blue Devils only played
one game on the road in DC and managed to leave the nation’s
capital with a victory. Jeremiah Liao opened up the scoring
with his first career goal. Off the faceoff the puck trickled
towards Liao on the doorstep as he instantly backhanded the
puck into the net. Freshman Dan Phan, playing his first game
at forward, got the hat trick with three goals. Duke had a 4-1
lead going into the third period of play, and nearly let George
Mason creep back up on them after giving up two quick goals.
The Devils clamped down and played solid defense the remainder
of the game to come away with two road points. |
