
The Duke University Squash Club
The purpose of the Duke University Squash Club (DUSC) is the promotion of squash in both quality and quantity toward the goal of perpetuation and expansion of squash in the following manner:
By providing intercollegiate squash competition.
By the promotion of exhibitions to bring the sport to the attention of the public and induce participation
By the promotion of coaching programs for members and the student body
By the promotion of leagues and tournaments (both within and beyond the Triangle Community)
Membership shall be offered to all members of the Duke Undergraduate and Graduate community. (Duke graduates may occupy no more than 25% of the recorded members).
There shall be meetings of the DUSC regularly, the times be decided by the members at the start of each semester.
The administrative affairs of the DUSC such as scheduling of seasons and practice sessions shall be the responsibility of the Officers. There shall be at least two (2) officers; President and Treasurer; and at most five (5); Vice-President, Practice Coordinator and Secretary. The above offices shall be subject to annual election in November - prior to the Spring Semester.
The President shall:
Obtain copy of the Duke University Handbook for Recreational Clubs and be responsible for following the procedures listed in it.
Act as a liaison between Duke HPER department and DUSC.
Be in charge
of meetings and see that they run smoothly.
The Vice-President shall:
Be in charge of fund raising activities for DUSC.
Be responsible for the scheduling of tournaments both within and outside of the club.
The Treasurer shall:
Keep records of all finances.
Be responsible for collecting dues,
entry fees, and taking charge of club purchasing.
The Practice Coordinator shall:
Coordinate practices and keep the
ladder up to late.
The Secretary shall:
Keep an up-to-date record of members of DUSC
Take minutes at officer's and general meetings.
Be responsible for advertising.
The members of the Duke University Squash Club may add to or amend the Constitution by a majority vote at a meeting attended by a majority of club members.
