The majority of North Carolina hog farms tend to be located in
the southeastern region of the state. The wet farmlands are conducive
to growing hog feed and disposing of waste products.

As evidenced by the first map, both the number of farms and the
county hog population are correlated in southeastern North Carolina.
NC Agricultural Exports


The first graph represent the total dollar amounts of agricultural
exports from North Carolina. The second indicates that 22.1% of
the gross agricultural exportations from North Carolina came from
the hog farming industry.
