Introduction

The Inter-Industry Trends section shows quantitative indicators for each of the five industries: Information Technology, Biotechnology, Textiles and Apparel, Hog Farming, and Furniture. These tables, charts, and maps relate to:

• Each industry's rank compared to other states nationally
• The distribution of corporate sites and/or employment across North Carolina for each industry
• Information on job gain/loss over the past decade

The data in these pages will help the reader better understand how the globalization is affecting North Carolina's industries in different ways.
