In conclusion, humans have directly and indirectly encouraged the population growths of white-tailed deer, coyotes, and Canada Geese. In fact, white-tailed deer and Canada Geese are two of the best wildlife management success stories in the U.S. Although deforestation and urbanization may destroy critical habitat for some species, these land use changes may also encourage other species to expand their ranges. Because white-tailed deer, coyotes, and Canada Geese are now so abundant, we must learn how to better manage these species to reduce risks and negative ecosystem effects associated with them. We must also try to be more tolerant of these species because part of the reason why they are so widespread is because of human development.
