Auditions for the 2012-2013 orchestra season will be held in the first week of classes of the fall semester. Additional details will be posted as the schedule is finalized.

For auditions, musicians are asked to play a prepared solo piece (such as a concerto or sonata) for 5 minutes or less which represented their best playing. In addition, they are asked to sight-read you a brief orchestral excerpt.

There will be an Ensemble Orientation Meeting on Saturday, August 25, 2012, during orientation week in the Biddle Music Building on East Campus. Many aspects of the music participation at Duke will be discussed, and Professor Davidson will be on hand to talk about the Orchestra and meet with students.

The orchestra rehearses on Monday and Wednesday nights in Baldwin Auditorium from 7:30-9:30 PM. Membership in the orchestra is open to anyone in the Duke community.
