you experience them all. Whether you're a freshman, an upperclassman, or
even a grad student, drop by and visit us at the student activities fair or

Welcome to the Duke Outing Club! We're here because we want to help you spend
more time outdoors. Outing Club is the place to come to experience the many
great outdoor adventures that North
Carolina offers and to explore more exotic and
exciting locales. Whatever your needs, Outing Club is the place to come. We
do everything from sponsoring all kinds of trips, complete with transport,
gear, maps, first aid and special training, to maintaining an extensive gear locker and simply providing a forum for outdoor
enthusiasts--beginner and expert alike--to get together, meet each other and
organize less formal activities.
Membership is $50 per year (students who will only be involved for a
semester should ask about a reduced semester rate). Once you have paid dues
and have a waiver on file, you are eligible to go on trips, check out gear
from the locker and participate in all club activities. If you are interested
in the club, but not sure if you are ready to become a member, feel free to
get on the mailing list, contact
an officer or come by any of our meetings.
Whatever your style of adventure, Outing Club has something for you! We go
backpacking, kayaking, climbing, backcountry skiing, biking, hangliding, day hiking and more. And we are incredibly
flexible. Outing Club is about finding yourself in
the outdoors, and we're happy to try any activity there is an interest in.
Just let us know or design a trip yourself. So whether you're a hardcore,
adrenaline junkie or a beginner who thinks that hiking sounds like fun, we'd
love to have you in the Outing Club. So get on the list, drop by a meeting,
and most importantly, join us for a trip! Pack your bag, and well see you on
the trail!
