On Monday, April 1, 2002, Professor Robert Sutter, School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University, spoke on "Chinese Policy Priorities: Implications for U.S. Policy." The talk was held at 4:00 p.m. in the Carpenter Board Room (223 Perkins Library) on the Duke University West Campus. The talk, which was sponsored by the Asian/Pacific Studies Institute and Program in Asian Security Studies, was part of the Nichols Distinguished lecture series.


On Wednesday, February 13, 2002, Professor Dru C. Gladney, Asian Studies and Anthropology University of Hawai'i at Manoa spoke on "China's Terrorism Fears: Islam and Uyghur Cyber-Separatism" the talk was held at 12:00 noon in the Breedlove Room (204 Perkins Library)


On Tuesday, February 5, 2002, Dr. Chung-in Moon, Dean, Graduate School of International Studies, Yonsei University spoke on, "After the Korean Summit: What Went Wrong?" The talk was held at 12:00 noon in the Breedlove Room (204 Perkins Library), Duke University West Campus.


On Friday, November 16, 2002, Professor Gerrit Gong, Assistant to the President for Planning and Assessment, Brigham Young University and Senior Associate, Center for Strategic and International Studies, spoke on "Remembering and Forgetting in East Asia: Strategic Issues." The talk was held at 12:00 noon in the Carpenter Board Room (223), Perkins Library.
