Forever the Moment
Griffith Film Theater, 7PM
(2008, 124 min., in Korean with English subtitles, color, 35 mm)
A group of outcast women struggle to turn adversity to their favor in
this sports-themed drama. With the 2004 Olympics in Athens looming on
the horizon, the assembled national team is far from impressive.
Facing ageism and sexism, the unlikely heroines realize that the
significance of their “moment” is much more than about winning the
gold. “Forever the Moment,” inspired by the true story of the 2004
South Korean women's handball team, was a major box office and
critical success.
