"FOURTH WAVE" in North and South Korea Relations:
The U.S. Role toward a New Vision for Peace in Northeast Asia
Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008, 5:00-6:30pm
Duke Divinity School Alumni Memorial common Room
(Lanford Level 1, Room 152)
Sponsored by:
Asian and Middle Eastern Studies; APSI; and Korea Forum
The urgent task in Northeast Asia is to overcome on-going Cold War tensions
and to work toward reunification of the divided Koreas. The new U.S.
administration
will play a decisive role in bringing about denuclearization of the
Korean peninsula
and to usher in a new "Fourth Wave" of cooperation in the region. The
"Fourth Wave"
in Korea signifies a transformation of the current state of opposition
between the North
and the South toward a new era of peace for the region and for
U.S.—Northeast Asia relations.
Free and open to the Public
Refreshments will be served
