Graphics Team

Nayantara Atal, Graphics

Nayantara is a senior from Muscat, Oman. She is a Public Policy and Art History and Visual Studies double major. She has had breakfast on the Eiffel Tower, soaked up some sun in the Caribbean, and chilled with cheetahs in Africa. She wants to be traveling instead of writing this right now...but is happy experiencing the world through Passport
Rosie Kilgore, Graphics Editor

Rosie is a senior and a Biology major who is switching to Program II. She is on the graphics team. She likes to draw, paint, and all that type of stuff.

Profile in Progress
Sarah Kim, Graphics

Sarah (Hye Jung) is a sophomore who "lives" in Busan, South Korea, is "from" Charlottesville, Virginia, but pledges her allegiance to the Red Sox as an ex-Bostonian. Basically she's from all over the place. She declared her major as Public Policy and Political Science with a Chinese minor, but lately has been considering dropping political science and taking up Philosophy. She loves to travel, is planning on a one-month winter Eurotrip this December, and will be studying abroad in Kunming, China, during the spring 2009.
Natalie Macaruso, Graphics

Natalie is a sophomore from Columbia, South Carolina. Although she is undecided on her major (leaning towards biology), she is definitely pre-med. Her only travel experience outside of the United States was an absolutely amazing trip to Italy. While in Italy, she learned to appreciate American drivers; even in South Carolina, bicyclists do not cut off tour buses and motorcyclists brake before driving through crowds of pedestrians. She is returning this summer after taking two semesters of Italian, so she hopes to actually understand some of the Italians she meets this time. Her Italian ancestors hail from Sicily, home of the Mafia ... Don't get on her bad side or you may find yourself sleeping with the fishes!
Menaka Nayar, Graphics

Menaka is a sophomore planning to major in Economics and Political Science. She was born in Oman and moved to the United States at the age of thirteen. She adores traveling and learning new languages. When she is not working on a layout for Passport, she can usually be found dancing with Defining Movement or participating in Model United Nations.
Kristin Oakley, Graphics

Kristin Oakley is a freshman from the minuscule town of Kernersville, North Carolina, a graduate of the North Carolina School of Science and Math, and a member of the graphics team at Passport. She has traveled to both Europe and Central America, and she hopes to spend at least two semesters abroad during her years at Duke. Her interests include reading ridiculously good Russian literature, stalking Oliver Sacks, and experimenting with cereal.
Sunny Park, Graphics

Sunmin (Sunny) is a sophomore from Hartsdale, New York.  She is very undecided on her major, knowing only that she would like to stay as far away from math and science as possible.  Her favorite thing to do is travel.  She loves haggling with the local vendors in Shanghai.  Even dodging traffic seems more fun to her when done in a foreign country.
Jackie Talpalar, Graphics

Jacquelyn is a sophomore from Short Hills, New Jersey. She is planning to major in Public Policy, with a focus on policy journalism. Passport Magazine is her first experience with a club at Duke, and it has been exciting for her since she has an interest in journalism, publishing, and advertising.
Sarah Wallingford, Graphics

Sarah is a sophomore from Maysville, Kentucky. Her favorite trip was a concert tour around Italy, where she got pooped on by a bird. Twice. She also got to see the Pope and sing in St. Peter's Basilica.
Minette Yao, Graphics

Minette is a junior, majoring in Cultural Anthropology, minoring in Visual Arts, and getting a certificate in Media Studies/Journalism. She's from New York, which is very convenient for traveling, which she LOVES to do... which is why she loves Passport. Her favorite places by far to visit, though, have been Nicaragua and Croatia. The next place in the world she wants to visit is Egypt.
