Adams graduated Duke magna cum laude and was selected for a Rhodes Scholarship. Rex Adams is a professor at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business and served as the school's dean from 1996-2001. Currently Rex Adams is serving as the chairman PBS Board of Directors.

#790 Roy Bostock '62-

Roy Bostock is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Duke who played both football and baseball. He then went off to earn his MBA from Harvard University. He was appointed to Duke's board of trustees in 1991. Most recently, Mr. Bostock was elected as a director of Northwest Airlines Corporation in April 2005. Bostock is a former chairman and chief executive officer of D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles Inc., one of the world's leading advertising firms, and is principal of Sealedge Investments LLC, a diversified private investment company. Bostock also serves as chairman of the Partnership for a Drug-Free America, a non-profit organization based in New York City. Roy and his wife Merilee Bostock were both honored with a library building to honor the generous service and donations Roy contributed to Duke University..

#855 Peter M. Nicholas '64

Mr. Nicholas graduated from Duke University and attained an MBA from the Wharton School Peter Nicholas is the Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board of Boston Scientific Corporation. Under Pete's vision and leadership, Boston Scientific grew from a start-up company with 38 employees to a global corporation with approximately 15,000 employees and revenue of $3.5 billion in 2003. Today, Boston Scientific is the world's largest medical device company dedicated to less-invasive therapies. In 1999 he turned over the CEO responsibilities to Jim Tobin, who serves in that capacity today.

Currently he is Chairman of the Duke University Board of Trustees and a member of the board's Executive Committee. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and a member of the American Academy of Achievement. He is a recipient of the Phoenix Lifetime Achievement Award, signifying distinguished leadership and accomplishment in the medical device industry. He is also a recipient various other for-profit and not-for-profit boards.

#453 Edmund T. Pratt Jr. '47

Mr. Pratt graduated Duke University and attended the Wharton School of Business. Following public service as assistant secretary of the Army for Financial Management during the Kennedy Administration, Pratt joined Pfizer as controller. Eventually Pratt became the chairman and CEO of Pfizer. During Pratt's two decades leading Pfizer, the company became one of the fastest-growing pharmaceutical companies in the United States. Under his leadership, annual revenue increased from $1 billion to almost $7 billion. On March 1, 1992 Pratt retired as chairman and continued his involvement with the Company as a director of the board until 1997.

During his tenure as head of Pfizer, Pratt was instrumental in the creation of low-income housing around Pfizer's Brooklyn plant, the donation of a Pfizer building for a public charter school, and the economic development and improvements in neighborhood safety. Always a generous man, Mr. Pratt held leadership positions in organizations such as the United Way, the Boys Clubs of America, and the Girl Scouts. He made significant contributions to Long Island University, in 1998, to fund academic, computer, and library facilities and, in 1999, to Duke University which created the Pratt School of Engineering. On September 5, 2002 Ed Pratt passed away at the age of 75. His commitment to Pfizer and the community at large will have a lasting effect.

#640 Reynolds Price '55

Reynolds Price graduated from Duke in 1955 a Rhodes Scholar. Price published his first novel in 1957 and was the winner of the William Faulkner Award. Today he has written twenty-five books and is one of the most recognized literary masters of the English language in contemporary times. Reynolds Price is a James B. Duke Professor of English and a distinguished novelist, poet, dramatist, and essayist.

#796 Gary L. Wilson '62

Gary L. Wilson graduated from Duke in 1962 as what former President Nan Keohane called a true student-athlete. He attained his M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Business. Wilson held several prominent positions at the Marriott Corp. including executive vice president and chief financial officer.

He currently is a member of the board of directors of multiple corporations, including Northwest Airlines (chairman), Yahoo!, and CB Richard Ellis. He is on the advisory board of NeoSpire. He served on the board of The Walt Disney Company from 1985 until his resignation on July 31 of 2006.

In honor of his generous donations to Duke University and his leadership, the West-Campus Athletic Center bears his name.
