We are very thrilled to announce that an undergraduate member of the PAL community, Michael McCreary, has won Duke’s Bascom Headen Palmer Prize for the best senior thesis on a literary subject! Michael's thesis was directed by PAL Director, Toril Moi, and his committee included PAL steering committe member Owen Flanagan as well as Jehanne Gheith (Slavic Studies). Congratulations Michael!

The List of Graduate Student Courses for Fall 2012 that count toward the PAL Certificate Program at Duke University is Now Available. If you are interested in earning the Certificate, will need to take courses listed in three different departments. Please note, therefore, that this semester, for the first time, we are offering a course taught in Art and Art History. For your convenience, I also attach to this email a list of all courses that have been offered for the PAL certificate so far.
