"So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
Matthew 6:31-34
...who has what it takes to be a member?
Anyone! United In Praise does not discriminate on the grounds race, color, gender, ethnicity or ability. We have a very diverse group at present constituting of young men and women from the United States and other countries, Trinity and Pratt and many other sectors of the Duke community.
Choir practice is on every Friday at 6pm to 8.30pm in the Julian Abelle Hall, popularly known as the Mary Lou center. As mentioned above, everyone is welcome. Even if you want to see how we practice or just show your support, feel free to drop by.
Praise dance practice is on every Sunday at 7.35pm to 9.30pm. If you have any queries or concerns regarding practice or joining, please contact us at UnitedInPraise@hotmail.com.
Whilst it is our hope that members put it upon themselves to come for practice and engagements, United In Praise also emphasizes this as this might eventually be used to determine your participation in major events like our bi-annual concerts. In this light, we hope all members show a personal commitment to attending all practice sessions. As you will realize, UP is a welcoming family therefore commitment will not be a big issue.
