Duke Blood Donor Site

In order to make blood donation convenient for Duke employees, the Red Cross operates a blood donor site two days every week in the Duke Med Center. This site is easily accessible and is open to anyone wishing to donate blood!

Located in the Duke Clinics Building (formerly the Duke South Hospital), the Duke Routine Site is responsible for collecting 40 pints of blood a week from students, faculty, and staff of the Medical Center and the University. Many of our Routine Site donors give blood every 8 weeks, and all of our donors are crucial in our efforts to maintain an adequate blood supply.

Our site is located on the ground floor of the Red Zone, across the hall from Employee Occupational Health and Wellness (Live for Life). Click here for directions to the site from on- and off-campus.

Duke University and Medical Center employees are encouraged to donate blood and giving blood is considered as time worked by university policy. (Make sure to check with your supervisor before you leave work to donate blood.)

Our donor site in the Duke Clinics Building (Red Zone, Ground Floor) is open two days a week:

Tuesdays 12:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Thursdays 9:00 am - 1:30 pm

If these times aren't convenient for you, we also offer donation opportunities at our Durham Fixed Site on University Drive. That site is open every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and on some weekend days. Call 489-6541 x386 for more information
