  The people of Renaissance England in the middle and lower class had to work to earn and provide a living for themselves and family. Regardless of their location, country or , the laboring people of Renaissance England shared common problems as well as exhibited defining characteristics. In the city, the tradesmen had to interact with the upper class gentry and city officials. In the country, the laborers interacted with the lords of their manor and gentry as well as aristocracy of the city retreating to the countryside for moments of escape.
