
Diana Lane is a member of the Class of 2008 at Duke University. She is pursuing a major in English, a certificate in Policy Journalism and Media Studies, and a minor in Spanish. She is a member of the Club Racquetball team but admits that her skills are less than stellar. Her career ambitions lie in the field of magazine publishing and journalism and she will immerse herself in media studies when she attends the Duke in New York program in the Fall of 2006. When Diana graduates, she hopes to get a job at a magazine but if that does not work out for her, she will fall back on graduate school in journalism as a means to fill her time and keep her parents happy. When she is not at school, Diana lives in Roanoke, VA.
Andra Fee is a member of the Class of 2006 at Duke University. She will graduate May 14th 2006 with a double major in English and Biology. After graduation Andra plans to enter medical school possibly after attaining a Master's in Public Health from Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University. While an undergraduate at Duke, Andra has been a member and the president of the Duke Club Softball team and enjoyed many intramural athletics. Andra's was born, raised and still lives on her family farm in Pennsylvania. Her interests in Renaissance Popular Culture lies in those issues effecting the countryside laborers and the middling to lower class tradesmen of the city. Her interests in these areas stem from her deep love of her rural upbringing and interactions with steel mill workers in her hometown area.
Sarah Allen is also a member of the Class of 2008 at Duke University. She is pursuing a double major in English and Cutural Anthropology. Athletics play a big role in Sarah's life, as she plays for the Duke Club Water Polo team, and also plays pick up basketball, runs and spins. Sarah is from Miami, Florida and thus finds herself at a loss for practicing Spanish in the local community. She therefore volunteers as a member of the program JUNTOS, an outreach program designed to tutor and help Latin families of Durham. Sarah can't wait to attend NYU in Madrid this summer in order to become entirely proficient and fluent in the language. She also loves creative writing, and is thrilled to attend the Duke in New York program, designed for English majors, with Diana in the Fall of 2006! When Sarah graduates, she hopes to enroll in law school, or pursue an interest in journalism and media.
Elizabeth Duncan is a member of the Class of 2007 at Duke University. She is pursuing a major in English and a minor in Biology. Elizabeth was initiated as a member of Zeta Tau Alpha in March 2005. She also participates in a service learning program where she tutors 4th and 5th graders in math and English. Elizabeth is from Huntington, West Virginia, where she will return this summer to work in a lab which conducts cancer research. When Elizabeth graduates, she plans to attend medical school.
