Whore

“Whore” was a term used to describe any sexually transgressive female, not just prostitutes. The double standard that existed during the Renaissance refers to the general acceptance for men to engage in sexually deviant behaviors while women were condemned for exhibiting their sexuality in public or inappropriate settings.
