Edition IV Editors
Avery Resor
(email)
Director of
Finances

Avery is an Environmental Science and Policy major
graduating in the fall of 2007. She has been
involved in SHARP for the past 3 years and now
works for SASS as well. This Wyomingite is an odd
mixture of calm and crazy and misses her
dreadlocks.
Melanie Tannenbaum
(email)
Director of
Public Relations

Melanie
is a sophomore who has finally decided to major in
Psychology and minor in Spanish after considering
just about every other possible major/minor
combination that exists. This is her first year
working with Saturday Night, but she has been
involved with SHARP (Sexual Harassment and Rape
Prevention) since spring of her freshman year.
Recently, you may have seen her around campus
tabling for Dating Violence Awareness Week or
drinking suspicious-looking beverages on stage
during the Real Deal. She hopes that due to the
work of outreach groups such as SHARP and Saturday
Night, more students at Duke will become more
aware of the problems that surround us and do
whatever they can to help end them. When she’s
not devoting her life to SHARP and Saturday Night,
she’s probably working on any of her other random
interests, which include photography, playing the
violin, yoga, and working with children.
Sarah Gordon
(email)
Director of Submissions

Sarah Gordon is a Trinity junior majoring in
public policy studies and minoring in economics.
She joined the Saturday Night staff to help raise
awareness about sexual assault at Duke and
beyond. She is also active in the LEAPS
Service-Learning Club, VOICES Magazine, and
Residence Life and Housing Services. In her free
time, she enjoys running, yoga, and movies.
Chloe Chien
(email)
Director of
National Campaign
Webmaster

Chloe is a senior
with a Biology major and Political Science minor. She
is an international student from Burma/Taiwan and
feels very blessed to have the opportunity to
learn/love/grow a lot at Duke. This is her second
year working with Saturday Night; and this
website is the first she has ever made. (A pat on the back,
please!)
As the National Campaign Director, she will be
contacting YOUR school very soon!
She has been
involved with SHARP peer education since sophomore
year. She loves mentoring (that's why she is an
RA) and is very passionate about
human/women's/animals' rights. Not sure what to do
with her life yet, she is considering medical
school and peace and conflict resolution studies.
Ashley Kwon
(email)
Director of
Fundraising
John. M. Stokes
(email)
Director of
Programming

John is in charge of both
thinking of new ways to incorporate SN into the
general Duke community and publicizing these ways.
In addition to Saturday Night, he is also involved
with the Center for Race Relations and Nourish
International here at Duke, and hopes to form
partnerships between these three organizations.
When not at Duke, he is either traveling or at
home with his family in Columbia, South Carolina,
where he is originally from.
As of right now, he is a
freshman pre-med psychology major and plans to
eventually go into the field of psychiatry with a
possible emphasis on the growing number of
Spanish-speaking patients in need of mental health
care. If you have any questions or ideas about
Saturday Night, don’t hesitate to send him an
email!
