PRODUCTION PROCESS

Wine Making/ Wine Producer

The wine producer is responsible for receiving the grapes and for the production, manufacture and or blending of wine products. The Wine producer is a main component in the production process, which is a main segment in the value chain.  For larger firms the technological push in the wine production process has upgraded value along the value chain. The changes in fermentation and quality control have made it easier to produce wine with a consistent taste and research continues on understanding the chemical composition of wine to improve consistency in wine production.

The link between the grape grower and the Wine Producer is very close in the New World wine market. In the New World, grape growing and wine making are often integrated operations in which the wine market aims for consistency so the first and last bottle taste the same. New World Wines often produced with more technology tend to be preferred by consumers that do not produce as much wine, such as in the United Kingdom.
