The Duke Triathlon Club is now officially recognized by Duke University as a Club sport.
Recognition by the University will allow the Triathlon club to have more access to facilities and storage.
The club will also receive additional funding through the Club Athletic Department,
and it will have opportunities to represent Duke while competing at the Collegiate Regional and National levels.

Brian Duffy won his final race of the season on Sunday at the Toyota U.S. Open Elite Amateur Championship in Dallas, Texas.

Brian, who was coming off his victory at the Best of the U.S. Amateur National Championship two weeks ago,
used another strong race in cold and rainy conditions to defeat the best amateur triathletes in the country.
On the longer than usual Olympic distance course, Brian took over the lead at the 1 mile mark on the run and
never looked back holding off the next Elite Amateur by just 5 seconds with a time of 2:00:20! Brian finished
his season with 6 victories in his 7 races--Philadelphia Insurance Elite Amateur, Avalon Islandman Sprint Overall,
Nautica New York City Elite Amateur, Nation's Triathlon Overall, Best of the U.S. Championship Overall, U.S. Open
Elite Amateur Championship Overall. According to some USAT officials, he will be a lead contendor for the 2009 USA
Triathlon Overall Amateur Athlete of the Year!

Paul Bloom, Terence Costello, Erik Newman, and Noah Pickus all had a great showing in the
Pinehurst Triathlon.
Michelle Heymann competed in her FIRST EVER Rambling Rose Triathlon and loved every minute of it!
Michelle is already setting goals for a sprint distance next spring.
