A Successful Panel Discussion!

Love Auditorium was filled to the brim for the September 29th panel discussion, Advancing Global Health: Making University Innovations Available in Developing Countries. Technology transfer officers and faculty at the forefront of intellectual property and global health research at both Duke and UNC introduced the event, moderated, and served as panelists. Widespread interest from students and faculty accross the university communities helped make the event a success!

An International Movement

Universities Allied for Essential Medicines is an international student organization that sees an urgent need for affordable medicines in low- and middle-income countries. Given the vast amount of medical intellectual property developed at institutions like Duke, we believe that universities have a responsibility to address the medical access crisis. By building student and faculty awareness and working with university administrators, UAEM aims to change the way that universities license life-saving technologies by making access a priority.
