Giving Options

You have a choice - Triangle United Way's Donor Choice Program allows you to make your own decision about the best way to give. Donors have the following options in giving:

Community Investment Fund: Community investment dollars are distributed to create positive change in Durham, Orange and Wake Counties. You can make your pledge to any one of the six categories listed below. By designating one of the codes shown HERE IN RED on your pledge card, your gift will go to the category and county of your choice:

Specific Care - your gift may also be directed to the agency of your choice. United Way member agencies are the family of service providers who have met the stringent standards of United Way's investment fund process. In addition to receiving funds through designations, agencies will also receive funds through United Way's community investment process. Participating agencies are not United Way member agencies. To be listed they must comply with several guidelines that include maintaining 501(c)(3) status, having a board of directors, providing health and human services in Durham, Orange or Wake county and maintaining a policy of nondiscrimination. Triangle United Way neither monitors nor endorses these organizations and is not responsible for the use of funds they receive through donor choice.

Designation to a specific non-profit agency - You may also direct your gift to any agency that is tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Please write in the name and address of the agency that you wish to direct your contribution to in the space provided on the pledge form. Triangle United Way neither monitors nor endorses these organizations and is not responsible for the use of funds they receive through donor choice.
