Westminster Fellowship at Duke University

Who We Are

"It is Christianity that gave the idea of the individual worth to every soul. It is Christianity also that announced that the individual soul could not be complete except in relation." - John Harvey

Westminster Fellowship is an active group of Christian students at Duke University that is dedicated to prayer, worship, fellowship, and community service. All Reformed students are invited to participate (Presbyterian and United Church of Christ), as well as those of other Christian denominations. The group is run by a steering committee of eleven students and our campus minister, the Reverend Cheryl Barton Henry. Learn more about the group's history and governance: here.

Weekly WPF meetings (8:30-10 pm on Monday nights) take on contemporary Christian issues regarding our faith as Christians, campus life, and the world at large. Meetings start with dinner together, and once a month we have a time of worship. Our weekly bring-your-own lunches (Thursday afternoons from 12:30-1:30 pm) offer opportunities for informal discussion and relationship building. Members of WPF worship regularly at Presbyterian churches throughout Durham, periodically leading worship upon invitation by these churches. Students also participate in a wide variety of service activities, such as nursing home visitation and tutoring at nearby elementary schools, and get together for monthly fellowship activities.
