LIVING
IN A WETLAND
Materials
required: paper and crayons or markers. Pictures and maybe some wetland
sounds are also great additions.
Preparation
time is about 5 minutes.
This
activity is appropriate for all ages.
At
least 15 minutes is needed for this activity.
Discuss with the kids wetland habiats. Talk about what kinds of animals
live there, why they are important, and what humans do to them.
Sit everyone in a circle and tell them that the middle of the circle is
a marsh or swamp. Talk about what kinds of animal sounds you hear, and
what kinds of plants you see. Have them draw these ideas and put them in
their "wetland". Then, and this is optional, you can talk about what kinds
of pollution is possibly there and have them draw that and put it in, as
well.
This is a great activity of the imagination!
