Women's Studies Dissertation Fellowships - Applications Due March 27, 2009
red horizontal rule

The Graduate School awards two full fellowships to Women's Studies each year. Each fellowship carries a nine-month $18,500 stipend (registration and health fees to be paid by the Graduate School).

The intent of these awards is to “buy time” for a doctoral candidate who is past course work and engaged in the early stages of dissertation research. As the fellowships are in Women's Studies, it is assumed that fellowship recipients will devote the year to deepening their knowledge of feminist theory and methods, and exploring interdisciplinary angles on the topics being researched. Fellowship recipients will be expected to be in residence during their Fellowship year. No other award may be held concurrently with this fellowship without permission from the Dean of the Graduate School, including teaching commitment(s). Graduate students enrolled in the Certificate Program will have priority for these awards. Please review the application information linked here. Application materials must be received in the Women's Studies Office by March 27, 2008 and should be sent to Melanie Mitchell, Program Coordinator, Box 90760.

The Graduate School also offers a variety of Fellowship and other financial aid programs which can be reviewed on the web at Fellowship and Research Opportunities.
