Welcome to the home page of an exciting, new, multi-media, education-oriented production company. Created in October of 1995, Gone South Productions aims to foster discussion of pressing social concerns. We hope to act as facilitators for the resolution of identity-based conflict. Our current project, Waking in Mississippi, examines the impact of the national media on race/community relations in a historically segregated, economically d epressed town.
Accompanying the release of the documentary, we plan to develop and launch a series of supplementary teaching aides--including a study/activity guide for secondary school classrooms. Currently, we are booking a fe
stival tour for the summer. However, we will be available for campus, community, and business visits in the Fall.
