Edwards Rally
Last night I attended a rally for John Edwards (well, I guess it was in reality a rally for the entire Kerry-Edwards campaign) and it was an amazing experience. The rally was held at NCA&TSU in Greensboro and I was standing right near the front. The first few speakers were local politicians and the band played, which was great. Then, John Edwards was introduced by his wife and daughter and spoke about various aspects of the campaign. I thought that the rally was well run and that his speech was energetic and articulate. He spoke about many issues, including health care, education, the war, and the economy. He also reflected somewhat on his debate the previous night, including comments about Cheney's record. Items he brought up about Cheney that caused large reactions included his votes against HeadStart, against the Department of Education, and against the creation of Martin Luther King Day. Though I have been a consistent Kerry supporter, this rally definitely helped me feel even more confident in my position, as Kerry's debate did as well. Even the fact that he came back to have this rally, after promising A&T he would make up for a previously cancelled one, helped solidify my confidence in him. I also got to shake his hand at the end, which was cool.
I have pictures, they will be posted online soon, and a link will be given.
