My name is Andrew Christopher Shen, and I'm from Houston, TX. I'm now a sophomore: class of 2011.
Being responsible, sleeping, not falling asleep in class, getting good grades, Houston Rockets, zombies, ninjas, pirates
I've learned HTML and forgotten it. Tried out BASIC and mostly made text adventure games with it using loops and stuff. Made some cool graphics in Flash but forgot how to use it.
I first started using a computer around age 6, back in the days when 28.8kbps was the top of the line internet connection. I've used various types of computers before, but I'm a Windows boy (95, ME, 2000 Pro, XP, and now Vista). My fondest memories come from playing Oregon Trail on those really truly horrific Apple computers they had in classrooms. My first computer game was Commander Keen, but the game I truly wanted was Sim City 2000. Man, that game was fun (I never bought it though). I use computers on a daily basis, mainly to access the web, check my email, and waste time. Occasionally I get some work done.
I became interested in learning computer science ever since 6th grade when we learned BASIC and made really simple programs. A computer scientist probably spends most of his day planning out what he is going to code, and after he or she spits something out, spends the rest of the day debugging and getting it to work. My best and favorite programming experience was making this Flash video where two stick figures fight and at the end one of them slashes the head off of the other with a stick sword. It was fun, although I don't really consider Flash programming. I see myself using computers in the future for my job, and for leisure (like I do now, checking on news and sports).
