Computer/Programming Autobiography

I can't remember when I first started using a computer. What I can remember is that it was a Windows 3.1 machine madeby a company called AST. It had no internet connection, just Encarta and a suite of worthless games. Since then, I've used familyDell machines and my own Dell laptop, and I recently built a pair of computers, one for myself and one for my family. I've only really used Windows, but I may install a Linux distro at some point. For fun. I mainly use computers to play games and look at things onthe internet, sometimes I do homework.

In high school, I took a programming class in introductory Java. I had a great experience, and I've been interested in programmingever since. I love computers and problem solving, and I feel like these two things define the job of a computer scientist, whether designinga system to solve a specific problem, or trying to eliminate problems within the code.

My favorite programming project was in my high school Java class where given some a code template, we designed the game Frogger. I enjoyed this project because I felt a great sense of accomplishment when the large project was done than I typically did with smaller assignments. In the future, I see myself using computers in a more design-oriented capacity as an electrical engineer, in addition to playing computer games surfing the net.

Fun fact of the moment: the Wikipedia article on Optimus Prime is longer than the article on George Washington. Good show, wikipedia.
