Monday 7th
Employd this day washing all day. Got about 36 Dollars. Weather fine and Pleasent. No Rain for six weeks

Tuesday March 8th 1853
Rainy. Employd this day washing Making Hose &c. Got 14 Dollars. Uncle John Davis Left for the States

Wednesday 9th
Employd this day Sluicing. Had a Hired Hand in the afternoon. Got no Gold

Thursday 10th
Employd washing with two [Long] Toms & one Hired Hand. Got about 29 Dollars. Likewise Heard the Sad News of the Death of Henry Burr´s wife which Made him quite Low Spirrited

Friday 11
Employd part of this in washing. Got about 39 Dollars in the forenoon. Afternoon Employd Building Dam & Ditch. Had Hired Hand 1/2 day. Henry went to Coloma

Saturday 12th
Employd This day washing with one Tom & one Hired Hand. Got this day 26 Dollars & two Letters from Home

Sunday 13th
This day Spent as all Sabbaths. Weather pleasent

Monday March 14th
Employd this day in washing &c. Got about 41 Dollars

Tuesday 15th
Employd washing with two Toms & two Hired hands. Got about 49 Dollars

Wednesday 16th
Employd washing with two Toms & two Hired Hands. Got about 48 Dolls

Thursday 17th
Employd in washing all Day with two Toms. Got about 48 Dolls

Friday 18th
Employd part of the day in washing. Got this day about 48 dolls

Saturday 19
Employd this day in making Hose, Building Dam &c. Got about 25

Sunday 20th
Employd this day as all Sabbs [Sabbaths]

Monday 21st
Employd this day in washing. Got about 42 Dollars. Sold out my interest for 350 Dollars. Settled all up Our Concerns

Tuesday 22d Employd this day in prepairing for a start. Left at Noon & walkd Down to Coloma & put up for the night

Wednesday 23
This day took the stage at 5 AM for Sacramento City. Arrived at 1/2 past 1-

Thursday 24th
This day was spent in walking about the City & Down to Suttersville

Friday 25th
This day took the Boat senator & run Down to Benicia. Arrived at 6 PM & put up at Sawyers

Saturday 26th
This day was Spent in Strolling About. Went Down to Vellezo & Back

Sunday 27th
This day was spent in Sitting About. Rainy all day at night took the H Clay for St Francisco. Arrived about 11 & put up at the Rossette Hotel

Monday 28th
This day Spent in Strolling about the City

Tuesday March 29th
This day Spent in strolling about the City. Looking Round &c

Wednesday 30th
Employd Running about the City. Prepairing for a start in the next steamer

Thursday 31
This day was Spent in Running about prepairing for a start for the States

Friday April 1st
This day Got my Baggage on Board the Steamer Cortes & Left about ten o clock for Panama

Saturday 2d
All this day making the best of our way Towards Panama. Weather fine.

Sunday 3d
Spent as all Sabbaths. Weather fine. Making good way Towards Panama

This day fine pleasent weather. At Sunrise Cape Lucas in sight a beam

Thursday 7th
All this day fine pleasent weather. Making the best of our way Towards acapulco

Friday 8th
All this day fine pleasent weather. Run Down abreast of acapuco & Laid by for Daylight. Not being able to run in at Night

Saturday 9th
At day Light run into acapulco & Commenced watering & Cobling. Finished about Noon. Set our Prisoner ashore, the Steamer California arrivd. Got under way and Left about 2 PM for Panama, fine pleasent weather

Fine Pleasent Weather at 8 o Clock in morning Buried one of our quarter Masters. Several others sick on board

Friday 15th
Fine pleasent weather. Made the Island of Toboga [Tobago?]. Arrivd at Panama about 2 PM. Took about & Got ashore about 4 o clock. Put up at the Aspinwal Hotel

Saturday 16
Started Early this morning for Corqona. Lost my Road took the Cruces Road. Much fatigued. Lost my Mule & put up for the night at a Natives Hut. During the Night was Robbd of all the money I Had amounting to about 350 Doll

Sunday 17th
All this day Traveling alone upon the Cruces Road. Arrivd at Cruces about 3 o clock. Took a Canoe Down to Corqona. Arrivd 5 o clock. Got supper & Left about for Barbacae [?] at which place we took the Rail Road for as Pinuval where we arrivd about dayLight. Left Barbacae [?] about 12 at Night. Run over 4 mules Have the Cars off the Track & smashd them to pieces. Heavy Rains

Monday 18th
Got our Baggage on Board of the Steamer Uncle Sam & Left about 9 0 clock for Jamaca

Tuesday 19th
All this day Making the best of our Way Towards Jamacia [Jamaica]. Strong Head winds & sea

Wednesday 20th
All this day Making the best of our way Towards Jamaica. Made Land about 4 o clock PM arrivd at the wharf about 8 o Clock. Comencd Taking in Coal & water all night

Thursday 21st
This day at Daylight Commencd Getting up Steam & Left about 6 for N. York. Run up along the South Side of the Islnd. Passed the East End about 4 o clock & Steered away for Croked Island Passage

Friday April 22
All this day fine pleasent weather making the Best of our way Towards N. York

At Day Light Saw the Highlands of Never Sink. Run in to quarentine. Had a visit from the Doct & Got to the Pier No 3 about 10 AM. Put up at Waldrons 196 Broom St

Thursday 28th
All this day Running about N York City. Visited the Christal Pallace &c. Telegraphed to Boston

Friday 29th
Part of this day was Spent in Running About. At 6 Left in the Steamer Isac Newton for albry

Saturday 30th
At 7 took the Cars for Buffaldo. Arrivd at Dark & Left for Cleveland Rode all night. Arrivd at 5 pm

Sunday April 1st
Left about 9 AM in the Steamer Alabama for Toledo. Arrivd about 8 olock [o´clock] P.M. Stopt on Board

Monday May 2d
This morning got my things up to the Depot & Left in the cars About 9 for Chicago. Arrivd about Dark & put up at the American House

Tuesday 3d
This day was Spent in visiting & Running About. Left at 3 o clock in the Cars for Rockford. Stopt at Belvedere

Wednesday May 4th 1853
This day Stormy and Rainy. Took the Cars At noon & arrivd at Rockford about 1 o clock. Took the Stage & arrivd at Oregon at Dark. Got Supper & put up for the Night

Thursday 5th
Left Oregon at Daylight for Dixon & Como. Arrivd About 3 p.m. at My Old Home where I found the Family all well Except Theodore

Friday 6th
All this day Stormy. Kept the House pretty Close. Not feeling very well

Saturday 7
This day was spent in & about the House. Stormy weather. Visited Friends

Sunday 8th
This day Stormy. Kept the House and Receivd Callers & answerd Many questions

Monday 9th
This day Employd in Looking Round the premises prepairing for work &c. Rather stormy & cold weather. Verry Backward

Employd as usal about the farm. Took Doll to Horse
