I am from Riverdale, NY. I am a senior majoring in biology with a cell and molecular concentration. In addition to Compsci4, I am studying biochemistry, microbiology and working in Dr. Brigid Hogan's Lab (Cell Biology Department) as an independent study. I decided to take this class in order to learn some basic computer programming that may be useful to me in my work as a scientist.
Some of my hobbies include the arts: music and visual arts. I am a member of the Arts Theme House (ATH) at Duke. I also enjoy various sports: tennis, badminton, swimming, both as a spectator and as a player.
Compsci autobiography: I have very little experience in computer programming. I am reasonably well-acquainted with and can use programs such as powerpoint, excel, photoshop. As I mentioned above, I would like to use this class to become familiar with the fundamentals of compsci so that I can build on this knowledge (by myself or by taking other classes) and use as an aid to solving scientific problems.
