My research and teaching centers on public opinion, campaigns, and elections in the U.S.  My work has investigated the macroeconomic determinants of policy attitudes, the role of residential setting in public opinion, and issue voting.  I am also interested in state and local politics, environmental politics, and environmental policy.

I am currently a fifth year graduate student at Duke University in Durham, NC.  I grew up in Presque Isle, Maine and currently live in Mebane, NC with my wife Sara and our flat-coat retriever, Cora.
