Interests

I am interested in majoring in Computer Science and/or Economics. In high school, I was on the soccer and indoor track teams. I am originally from Durham, NC and have always wanted to attend Duke University. As a freshman, it is exciting to finally be here and already consider this place my home (because, well, it is).

Programming Experience

I do not vividly remember my first experience with a computer, although I probably had no idea what was going on considering I was most likely a baby. I have always used basic laptop and desktop PCs. I use computers for much the same purpose that the general populace does: doing work, finding information, communicating with others, wasting time, etc. I have been interested in taking a college Computer Science class since completing an AP Computer Science class in high school. I imagine Computer Scientists have varying responsibilities as with any other scientific field. After reading the articles posted about Computer Science, I am beginning to think that it is an emerging, exciting, and ever-evolving industry. I am interested in any type of object-oriented programming that demands concentrated logical analysis. I could potentially see myself as a computer scientist in the future.
