The Wiz

Quote of the day: "Sitting in the school library researching for a history essay, I overheard a health class discussing the various kinds of contraception available. The teacher told them that abstinence was the best way. A student said, "Wait, I thought that abstinence was only 56% effective."

Its from the Dilbert newsletter, good stuff. There's not much to announce in the way of humor though. I tried to audition for the next HoofnHorn show - the Wiz. I doubt I did very well, even for a bit part, but hey who knows. The dance part was fun, and sure I was nervous, but it was entertaining. And, I can only get better. Stupid DUI though did their auditions in secret or something, 'cause I couldn't find the folder or the date. Curses! Oh, for edification: the Wiz is not the same as the movie of the same title. I thought maybe I'd be playing Mario Bros. 3, but I've been told it's actually Wizard of Oz. Who knew?

Classes are going well, the nicest part being that tomorrow is off, so intend to stay up late tonight, maybe watch a movie or something. Be cool it should be, I think. I'm still trying to get that tagboard to fit into the page. I'm considering dividing it into two portions: where you'd update it and where you'd see the old posts. But... that'd be weird, right? I think it would be anyways, despite the space saving features.

Other than that... hmm, I head back home this weekend for me and my dad's birthdays. Happy birthday Papi! So, if you're in Charleston I'll maybe see you there. Then on Monday I see Mayer and Counting Crows. I'm not a Counting Crows fan, but Mayer'll be awesome. Whoo!

Love'n'Laundry

Just a quick update: new comic for all of you to read. I think I can make a quick series out of these. The best part is they're quick and easy to draw, heheeh. This was probably the fastest comic I've ever made - about 20 minutes worth of work, and the idea appeared during class. So, maybe I'm getting the hang of this, or maybe I just got lucky this time. Jill has a good appearance, too. I kinda like it, and it wasn't hard to draw. It helps if I draw the entire head, as opposed to the facial arc - which is what I'd done before. Doing that keeps it more balanced... so yeah. I had some trouble getting her face to look Jill-ish, but once I got that it was easy as pie. Mmmm, pie....

Anyhow, enjoy!

EDITATED: I forgot to mention this on the comic, but the Love part of that is that girls vs guys deal with sig others differently... much like laundry in fact. Yeah, that's the premise anyways. So, re-enjoy with that in mind!

Adventures in Showering!

As he stepped onto the cold clammy floor, he knew only one thing: the dirt of Gimelar must be removed, and only water and the holy soap of the Dove tribe could do it. Removing his shoes, he sadly recalled the shower shoes he once wore specifically for exploring these kinds of locales. If only they came in the right size! Apparently provisions were scarce in the local village, especially since the villagers were shorter than him.

I spotted a lever, concealed among the dark tiles, that would perhaps aid me in my quest. I slowly reached for it when suddenly, along the floor, a reviled creature was spotted. Yegads! Was it Yug-Soloth? Was it a cthuloid spawn?! Nae! 'twas an abomination among man, but surely no powerful being. As it skittered along the floor, its putrid antennae scowering the tile for any sign of sustenance, I could see the pale light reflected off its brown carapace. If I'd had my flip flops, perhaps this corrupt entity could be destroyed, but in this case I was totally defenseless. Wait! The lever, I thought to myself. With a pull and a turn, the water came rushing out. Using what dexterity I could muster, I deflected the water onto the fiend, causing it to scurry away beyond my sight. Mwahahaha!

At last, I could shower in peace! But, wait... what if it returned... Curses! I must remove my glasses to remove all the dirt, I would be left defenseless, unable to see... well, I would stall as long as I could. As I cleansed myself, I kept a close eye on the floor, waiting to see the beast that crawled. And then aha! There it was! Well, it wasn't going to get anywhere! Another spray of water pushed it back, and this time I no longer felt its presence. I removed my glasses and quickly washed away the rest of the dirt. Haha! Finished at last, I placed the glasses back, and checked for the Thing. I also checked my sandals, which seemed like ideal hiding places for it. It wasn't there, and I could not see it. Hurriedly, I left that damp temple, and returned to my abode.

Puttin' on the Ritz

That is to say, I've got class - in case you're wondering about the title. Today's Bio lab was not in session, which made for a much easier schedule than anticipated - no 9:10. I was still up for it though, 'cause I want to get in synch with the whole thing, and besides I wasn't sure that the lab wasn't going on. The next class - the Bio lab's lecture, seemed interesting enough. The professor had a good lecture voice, not boring, but I hope the material is everything it could be. It's Microbiology... so saying "everything it could be" isn't saying much.

The Social Psychology class appears to be a sped class, which makes me feel weird. It's three tests and they're all multiple choice non-cumulative. That alone makes for an easy class, but then you get two guess for the multiple choice - if your second guess is right you get half credit for the question. So, dude... you can always narrow it down to two answers. Not to mention that it's crosslisted as Sociology, the most highly mocked major in college. Ah well, I'm also taking Physics 53, Microbiology, Perception and Creative Writing. Thus, my schedule is pretty full all week.

Oh wait! Did I say all week?! I meant Monday through Thursday! Bwahahaahhaa! I have Fridays off! Eat that! *insert evil cackle here*

Ahem ahem. Well, other than classes things here are interesting. Nothing can be said definitively right now about how everything is, I have yet to see all my friends and yet to get back into the definitive groove. Either way, things're better than before. Yesterday's gone, yesterday's gone.

Now, I'm gonna send out some crazy love to Anthony, for being a devoted reader. Dude, you rock! I'll send you some b33r or something.

Moving It

Aright, its time to detail the moving.

First, we got to the hotel on Tuesday night and discovered that the power in downtown Durham was out. So, no parking (the security gate wouldn't go up) and no lights inside the hotel, except for the emergency hall lights. Well, we parked in the pick-up/unloading zone and went up to our room. The power came bac around 1:30AM, so we got to sleep with A/C. Nice. Next morn, time to get my brother moved in. He's in Bassett, third floor, corner. It's a nice room, and he got a pretty cool roommate - Amod (Uh-Mode). We got him moved in at speeds approaching the sound barrier thanks to a squad of six people who helped us carry everything up to the third floor. Huzzah! That meant we had time to do some of my stuff.

Well, first thing's first - my blue carpet went into the room. Hard to put down it always is, but makes floor comfy to lie on/ sit on. Never know when that could come in useful one does. We also put in the computer, which is the most essential part of the room really, as it's where I can do things like this. A quick meal at George's (damn, good sushi - had a Deluxe Rainbow roll... and a clam chowder... daaamn good) and then we thought... hey, we've got time, let's hit up the storage. Well, me and my mom knew the way, but weren't confident. Due to the fact that the sign for Route 70 had fallen down, we missed the exit. Since storage access is limited to before 9PM our brief detour resulted in us not being able to get in. Well, don't stop thinking about tomorrow.

Get up at 7:30AM and head off to storage. We're ready and set. We find the fallen sign, get to the storage locker.... feck, we've forgotten the key. Well, we call my dad to bring it over (an adventure in and of itself). We wait til 10AM when we recall my dad and he tells us "You have the keys to the other car." Indeed. Smegging... meh.

Well, off we go to get ready for my bro's commencement speech, given by Keohane, at 11AM. 3.5 hours down the drain. Well, later that evening we DO finally get all my things from storage and get everything about ready and done. We get everything ready (including acquiring a replacement Cell Phone), and we hit up Il Palio, a great (and expensive) Italian restaurant on Franklin St. in Chapel Hill. It's one of those really fancy places, but mmm so good.

Its Friday! Finishing touches on my room, for the most part. Still a few minor things. Plans are finalized for helping Eileen out with storage tomorrow, and textbooks are purchased. If I may give you some advice, find out your textbooks and try to find them on Amazon - perhaps you can use my link? Just a thought. Heehee.

For those of you who mighta, ahem, missed it before: Horse a cappella is here for your perusal. I also recommend the wonderful kitten found here. Thanks E! As a final note... um... I don't have much of a final note... err, wait! Haha, I have it! A better major general has never sat agee! Oh, and I have a new drawing for Carpe up. If you're at Duke, catch us distributing these from 4-6 on East Campus!

This Just In

Just for anyone who doesn't have AIM: I am now in my dorm. Much that has happened during moving in is worth writing, and I assure you that once I have a substantial amount of time to do this, I will. This is a promise I can keep! (Unlike so many others, heheh) Anyhow, I will tell you that my bro is also moved in, and that I suspect sometime over the next week we'll hit DDR. The weirdest part of the move in is the knowledge that the following weekend, we'll be going home to celebrate me and my dad's birthdays (september 3rd, both of us). So, this is almost a temporary measure.

Right after that weekend, I intend to hit a Mayer concert with several people from here (including my bro). I enjoy Mayer, even if you all hate him. So feck off (except for Ron who I know likes Mayer).

Start Spreading the News...

"I'm leaving today. Down to the very heart of it, Raleigh-Durham! These vagabond shoes are longing to stray down to the very heart of it... Raleigh-Durham!"

Yeah, so... um, catch the song quote in today's journal? Not that anyone's looking anymore... it lasted all of a day. But, that's okay. *sigh* Anyhow, I leave today for Raleigh-Durham where I return to my college state. That is to say, the learning state I guess. Though, I also guess half the learning is more out of the classroom than I like and I like half the learning more than half of what I should. Heehee!

Ahem.. what I'm trying to say is I think a lot of what you learn in college is learned outside the classroom. There we go. Tomorrow we arrive at Durham, stay in a hotel. Then on Wednesday we move my bro in, perhaps start moving me in. Then Thursday we finish the moving in, and Friday on are reserved for activities and minor shopping trips for dorm room goods. I'll get to see all my friends again, and it'll be awesome.

Today, now... was a day. Sahara's, again, with Mike for lunch. Cut some grass, talked on-line a lot, and packed assorted goods for the trip. Also played some Kingdom Hearts, thanks to Mike H. sending me his copy from Texas. It's a good game, though the jumping controls are a bit awkward. The combat, currently, is simplistic - but I've barely gone into the game much. So, I expect it to get further complicated. Right now I'm also confused as to who the bad guy is - I saw all the Disney villains, but I doubt it's them. I figure they'll have an ulterior motive of some sort. I'm enjoying the reappearance of Final Fantasy characters in the game - that's a lot of fun. I think Squall (Leon!) looks better here than he did in FF8, but that may be my preference. On the other hand, Yuffie has a permanent smile slapped on her face - which is a little odd looking in certain dialogue situations. Perhaps I'll review this game... perhaps not. We'll see. I don't wanna promise something (like the E3 section) and have it never materialize. Dude... the thing about the E3 section is it was just so much work, and so huge... if you STILL have any particular questions, I have my little notebook and all. Just e-mail me (please?). I also intend to put up a tag board sometime so I can get that "people visit here sometimes" feeling. And you can all comment on what I'm up to, so it's good for all.

I probably won't be updating for the next couple of days, though I'll see if I can't fit it in on Wednesday by moving in some stuff to my dorm room. We'll see.... we'll see.

I hope everyone had a great Summer! Have a great school year, too!

ETA Two Days

I RETURN!

Ahem, well... back from the Cincinnati's ATP Master's Tournament. I've already got a review up to aquiesce your Schizoid Production update needs. Not much has gone on other than what you can read right at that review. I need to finish off the last bits of the things I promised I'd do over the Summer, and get planned for what I have planned for the school year. Which, admittedly, isn't much so far. But some of it is pretty big stuff. DUI alone is a big deal, and I definitely intend to audition for that. That's not even the biggest thing - D&D is there, and so many others. My bro'll be down in Duke with me, so that's going to be awesome. Hopefully my friends'll think he's cool, too, and all will be well. He needs to play some Smash though... or he just won't fit in, heh.

One last thing before I end this brief update - there's apparently a sniper, a la the DC Sniper, here in Charleston. Check out this article for the goods on the story. Needless to say, I don't want to go out much. Fortunately, I guess, we won't be here for the next week because of moving into Duke. So, hopefully it'll be taken care of before my parents come back. By taken care of I do mean that the sniper's been either caught or castrated, whichever's easier for the cops. I suspect caught since the kind or person who shoots innocent people from 100 yards away with a sniper rifle can't be the bravest of fellows, and therefore of course has balls that must hide from public by shrinking. Stupid snipers....

"Watch out now, beware the thoughts that linger winding up inside your head."

Final Wednesday

I don't plan to be very original with the titles, ari? Good. As long as we got an understanding here.

I leave for Cincinnati at 4 (or so) today. Gonna watch a tennis tournament, I am. Hopefully the last days of matches'll be really awesome. It's only guys - though I don't mind much since it'd just be the Williams sisters whooping up again if there were women, I bet. Curse them for their tennis skills!

Today was my last day at Dr. T's. The nurses assistants were all sentimental telling me they'd miss their lackey (I was promoted from peon today) and their filing person. They did say I was a very nice peon/lackey though. I was touched by Dr. Taravath's free pizza for lunch. It was Pizza Hut, and it was a Supreme. And it was good. They rejoiced. All in all, I liked working there. Now I know I'd like a private practice, and I know that neurology's kinda cool. He made a difference in a lot of people's lives - like, people who had hundreds of seizures a day who now had none. That's pretty impressive, says I. Very cool. I also learned how to file stuff. Which was also great fun *cough*. Well, it was... educational. You know, apparently the med students who come in think they're too good to file things or clean up the room after a patient's used it. Not me though! Heh, I was a nice helper.

Not much else happened today. Hrrmmm... went gime-ing, possibly my last time here. Played a lot of DDR... played some ping pong... Played some Graffiti! What a cool game. Get a group of friends, get on Yahoo, and voila! And of course, the cooler the friends the cooler the game. Fun stuff.

I have those two reviews I mentioned yesterday still up, as well as some new pix from Hilton Head over the Summer. For better reference play that weird chanty Satanic hymn music while imagining the flames roaring. 'cause if you were there you would've heard me doing the Satanic hymn music while I caroused over the flames. I don't know what exactly is entailed in a carouse, but I figure I was close enough.

Final Tuesday

Yup, last Tuesday before I head back to Duke. That sounds weird to say... especially since it still feels like Duke is so far away. So close, no matter how far, know what I'm saying? Anyhow, today I didn't work because Dr. T had two medical students coming in so he asked if I'd mind not coming in. Four people plus patients in a room equals a really crowded room. Anyhow, that makes tomorrow my last day and Dr. T is going to grab a pizza so we can eat lunch. Cooool.

Today was rather uneventful, really. I did have some good conversations AIM and otherwise, but that's not exactly something you can talk about on AIM, sh'know? And I ate at Sahara's again with Ron and Alex... good food. Lots of food, too. And then I ate at Fazio's with my family. Better food. Less food, but it's quality Italian. Mmmmmm. Karaoke at Uno's followed, though the karaoke itself suffered tonight. They weren't taking anymore song requests by the time we got there. And it was so full there weren't any tables. Still, plenty of friends, even more than usual. Lessee if I can list them all... me, Kate, Murali, Rishi, Robert, Robbie, Ronnie, Bart, Christina, Katie, Maya, Derek, Travis, Brett, Yason, and Chelsea. Admittedly, they're not all friends - but certainly acquaintances who're friendly. Heh. Good time talking to them, regardless.

Sorry for the lack of update yesterday by the way. Was real busy playing Yahoo Graffiti with Eileen, Fong, John, Mike, Albert and two other Texans. Me, Eileen and Fong's team tended to win more often than not. Albert was on our team for a game, as was John. Dude, some of those drawings are hard. It sucked when you got something like Nokia or Afghanistan and the other team got tooth, smile, sky and the like. It's weird how sometimes you'll make a drawing you're sure is obvious, but your teammate's thought processes don't work out the same, and they just can't get it. Like, book of matches... E was drawing it but not me, Fong or Albert could get it. We were just clueless. Hehehehehh.

Anyhow, check out the new comic I'd promised. It's up, and it continues the laundry saga. It also semi-introduces a new character - the hippie guy on the left. He just basically digs Roy's music. Oh, and if you're curious about the music Roy's making, watch the Critic - Marty's First Date. Then you'll understand more. You know what rocks? Getting something you've been waiting for. Like cameras, a printer, that sorta thing. Even if it's something small, like a cool pencil, getting it is fun. Y'know? In that vein, I show you now two new reviews. One is, um, odd. But I felt like posting it anyways. I feel like it should be in Maxim, but whatever. Enjoy.

Voracious

Things started out so sweet today... just sleepin' in. Oh yeah. Got up, went to Taco Bell for a 30 second lunch (had to hurry to a movie) and then hit SWAT. My eating, which is normally considered fast, was at an incredibly high level today. "Camilo, you eat... but in a primal sense." was how Alejandro described it. He saw me down a Grill Stufft Burrito and a Baja Gordita in about a minute, tops. I can taste the food though, promise. It's just... I taste it faster than most people do. Heheh.

As for the movie, it was good. It wasn't much on character development past the bare basics, but the action was nice and it was very fast paced. Wasn't a dull moment, and it seemed to be very SWAT like, from what little I know. I guess my knowledge's all based on the original SWAT game, but... I think that was pretty realistic. So, ha! I'm a SWAT knowledge god! If I can just remember which way to click to do the "cover me" hand motions...

So, other than that - I skipped gime-ing 'cause the movie went on a little long, and I just didn't feel up to it. Tomorrow's my last day of membership though... I dunno if I should just give it a rest for the next week, or if I should try to sneak in there, or maybe I can just hop up to the YMCA and try to get some free days up there. I dunno... I just don't want to have worked out all Summer only to get up to school and have it all have gone away. 'cause, dude, I actually have noticed a difference. Not that I'm flexing in front of a mirror or anything, that's just not me. But there is a difference. I doubt anyone can tell, but hey... whatever. Losers. I'll ask the next person to see me shirtless what they think, heheheh.

Ari, so the night was rather uneventful - played some Xenosaga though I don't intend to do that much. I also work tomorrow at Dr. T's since I'm mostly over that cold. Which means a slightly modified bed time. Heh. I have some more links for you guys to check out, too. Lessee... check out this joke about peni (that's plural) and this joke about shopping. Both funny stuff. Also, interesting scientific findings about us males - enjoy that link as well. None of these quite reaches the hilarity levels of Gollum's award speech. Finally, in my unusually-timed discovery of several penile sites, I present the last in the list. Size up your (or your sig other's, ladies) family goods with this questionable Flash video. Jumping off the cock-box, I'm in the process of finishing a comic up, too. I would have it done if not for the work tomorrow which means I have to hit the bed earlier. I'll be sure to get it to you tomorrow though. Promise.

May All the Angels of Ireland...

This deserves it's own, albeit brief, update. Horse a cappella is always a blast. Get a kick out of it for me, yeah? And, if you haven't seen it yet check out the most badass ASCII art you'll ever find. Lata!

Papi: 1; Steak: 0

Haiyai! The most Karate-like hello I've heard yet. So, today was a good day. Started out uneventful with a lot of yard sweeping (after cutting, the grass was collected. Considering the unfortunate size of our yard, that's a lot of grass clippings.) Anyhow, I finally saw a soothing light at the end of my tunnel and got to eat. I then fixed up a neighbor's computer problem - I don't know what I did, but it fixed it so let's not get picky, heh. It was problems with downloading digital photos from a camera, and it works now. But, I just poked at things, moved things around, etc.

So then I went to the gime - but I'd forgotten it's Saturday so when I got there they were closing (stupid gime!). So, instead I've made plans to go tomorrow, and played tennis and DDR (with my mom and my dad respectively.) Tennis was fun, my mom's gotten better - I still win though *grin*. And my dad can now pass all the 1 footers, and some 2 footers. Which isn't half bad for someone's first day. Good job papi!

After that was dinner at Cozumel where my dad had his first Chile Colorado in a year and a half. He liked it, heh. Afterwards was a viewing of Boondock Saints with Blatt, Dan, Al, Tolbert, Mike, Bart, Ronnie, Kate, Blair and Christina. Such a great movie, one of my faves. And a favorite of most who've seen it, too. Right Mike? Right Eileen? Right Blair? Hellz yeah. Heheheh. (Also, check out this cool quiz!

Now, I'm downloading awesome songs from old video games. Check out Korobeiniki for an awesome blast from the past. And when you're done, look up the Minibosses on your local Kazaa-like substitute for some great hits -Contra, Metroid, Super Mario Bros 2, Mega Man, soooo many hits.

And, finally, E got the two quotes yesterday 'cause she reads my website as I update, heheheh. Can you get today's peoples? There shouldn't be more'n one this time, but I might've missed the second, Mwahahahahaaha! Oh! And check out the movie trailers especially Bubba Ho-Tep and Scary Movie 3. Great stuff! Enjoy!

Luck Is On My Side

Indeed it is! I managed to finally pass all the MAX songs on Standard (albeit with some C's and one D). Not only that, but I did a great job of cutting the grass and got through a good sized portion of it. Everything's going rather smoothly on the way towards college, what with getting my bro set up for it and all. I'm starting to look forward to it again. I mean, I'm gonna miss being home, but I can remember all the great things about college now, too. Lots to do though, class-work's gonna be a bitch. Mrrm.

So check it out, I'm gonna be doing song quotes in all my entries. It's up to you guys to catch them all! If, um, you e-mail me or IM me what the quote is and the song I'll do stuff. Or something. There might be more'n one in each e-mail, I'll start with an easy one (or is it?!)so you guys can get the hang of it. "Any way the wind blows."

Pirates Re-Redux

You know, my website's getting some international hits. Czech, Canada, Germany, Italy, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Croatia, New Zealand, Sweden, Denmark, and "The rest". I kinda wonder what "the rest" entails. It sounds like The Others though I hope it's unrelated. Otherwise there's undead checking out my website, which although kinda cool means that somewhere Satan is reading this and saying, "Ooh yeah, he'll be down here in a few years." Which is almost as creepy as the idea that mermaidsongx mighta been a guy. *shudder*

So I saw Pirates of the Caribbean again. Still such a great great movie. Johnny Depp really stole the movie... again. If you haven't seen it, seriously, shell out the 7 bucks and go! See Captain Jack Sparrow. Oh, the trip was me, Kate, Blair, Blatt, Mike, Dan and Caitlin Ferrel. Fun group. Outside in the parking lot such things came up as the old Batman, Michael Keaton, giant cockroach-beetles, the Beatles, PETA and pitas. It was a fun conversation, lasted about... 45 minutes or so. Good stuff.

Oh, and I talked to a friend I hadn't talked to in a while. It was really fun, as it'd been quite a while. Good times were had by all. Huzzah! Not much else's gone on... my scanner's on the fritz, causing difficulties regarding my drawings for Carpe and future comics. Hopefully it'll be fixed, and if not I can always try to hook up my new scanner/printer that's set for Duke. We'll just hafta see! Anywho, I'll catch youse later!

You Sexy Thing

Ha! Miiddddllleee oooof the daaaaay UPDATE! *shoots huge beam*

Ahem, I just wanted to get this out 'cause I keep forgetting to mention it. Now, I thought it kinda improper to mention back when it happened, I mean I guess this is probably personal stuff, right? But, someone had the hots for me, and I have no idea who she (presumably she, anyhow) was. Here's what's been said to me on AIM (while I was away each time):

(July 14) mermaidsongx: hey baby. speak to me baby - i saw your picture with the goatee on your web site - baby you look so ... ravishing - where are you, dearest one?? - *breathes heavily* wake up ... and love me ... - *kisses you gently on the cheek as you sleep* - *breathes* i'll be back for you later ... - ;-)

(July 15) mermaidsongx: *breathes into your ear* - you know you want me ... - i'll be back ...

(July 16) mermaidsongx: babe, babe, baby baby because you're just so fiiiiiiiiiiine ... - ;-) - {{{ seriously, camilo, you're always away. IM me sometime ;-) }}}

Yeah, she was pretty straightforward and blunt about the whole thing. Oh, and each one of those entries was actually several IM's, but it saves space to just condense them all into one. If you're curious the - represent the space between IM's. Oh, and the x in mermaidsong is to protect the "innocent" in case this person still exists.

Anyhow, that's the explanation, but... what the Hell? I mean, does this happen to a lot of people? Sure, it's hard to resist me when the pictures are so enticing *cough sputter cough* but I dunno... I'd never had a person creep out of nowhere like that and start... breathing in my ear? Maybe she confused me for some sort of porn star. I did, once, try to talk to her after all these to see if it was some sort of practical joke (the most likely culprit, I believe) but received no response. What a weird thing to happen though. Honestly, I could never do a whole "internet relationship" thing. Too weird for me, and way too unreliable. What if it was some 300 lb. "just got out of prison" who was looking for a young Hispanic with a goatee? *shudder* Okay, that's gonna give me nightmares for a week, at least.

That's all for now, I just thought I'd share that.

Who's With Me?

First thing's first: if you're gonna buy something from Amazon.com please buy through that link at the left. It will give me some spending cash, albeit a tiny tiny amount. But if you buy more, I get more! Think of it as donating to the Camilo-Fund and also getting your book in exchange. Talk about win-win, neh? And talk about Amazon.com's bargains! Whoo! I mean, their prices are so low they must be CRAZY! Heeheehee. That's enough plugging for now.

Well, today was rather uneventful. I did hit Sahara's, as you can see in the entry below. Man, that was some good Middle Eastern food. If only they had big pitas, all would be perfect. As it stands though, there's a lot more variety in the food, which is a fair enough trade. Only Mike and me showed up though, all the other punks had "excuses" or whatever. Frrrmph. Wait... was that a sarcastic noise, or did the gas finally hit me? Ah well... noone knows for sure. Not even I, the almighty Duck. (No relation to Howard the Duck). Anyways though, the food was great.

I also cut grass today, which was... um, fun? Sometimes I think riding-mower grass cutting is kinda zennish... See, it's like you're all alone in your own world where the only sound is the loud motor hum, and you're completely focused on how you're cutting the grass. It's like a sand/rock garden. On the other hand, driving is a totally non-zen-se experience. The difference is while driving you're focused on where you're going and getting there is almost non-important, so long as you survive the trip (which is very dependent on the other losers who sometimes decide to stop at random places or ignore the conveniently placed signs on the road). But the point is, I don't mind cutting the lawn and sometimes it clears my head. Sorta like working out, which I'll do again tomorrow.

Hmm... I also played a lot of DDR today, which was a blast. There's some really really hard songs in MAX. Songs I can't pass on Trick (or Standard now I guess). But eventually... I did get the hang of freeze arrows for the most part, and I've gotten a touch better at crossing over and such feats of pedile (err, not manual? Like... foot-related) dexterity. I like the game better than Konamix anyways. And it's a good workout too, damn. I was all sweating and stuff. With my lucky hat on, of course. Without it, I'm one rasta-less Hispanic.

Lessee... I've drawn something for the Carpe issue again, hopefully Ross'll think it's good. If not, well, I like it. But then, everything looks good in your head.

Hey, that reminded me (for some reason) about this fun-filled site I thought I should share. Jokes of all sorts here, though I wanted to focus on the political jokes. In particular look at this one, this one, and that one. Am I biased in my decisions? Yes, of course I am. You gotta probem wit' dat? Didn't 'tink so.

I'll catch you all on the 'morrow! *sings* "Are ye goin' to Scarborough Fair..."

Doesn't Really Matter

So I hit Uno's again, more Karaoke of course. Check it out, we went to sing Bohemian Rhapsody! We did a very respectable job - me, Blatt, Ronnie, Bart and Rishi. We got the high and low parts and everything! It was very cool. Karaoke was good times for all, as usual. I don't remember mentioning this, but there's this girl called Kelly, rie? And she's our neighbor. And she's going to go to UNC Chapel Hill, and she's friends with my friends, and goes to tennis, and speaks Spanish. Here's the kicker though - we'd never met until this Summer. How weird is that? She's cool, and she was at Uno's today.

Oh! Shizzle! So, check this out: Ronnie has a phone... that... can play... STRONGBAD for the ring! Holy shit! He has "To the Limit" and "Techno" and the Stinkoman Marzipan answering machine message. Holy crap! This it the most awesome phone in existence: pictures, mp3's, ring tones, amazing. Too bad it's 90 bucks and you need to use Sprint on it. But still... just imagine fhqwhgads every time your phone rang. Now that's impressive!

Not much else happened today, I finally beat the three versions of Eternal Darkness. Got another ending, but that's about it. Not too spectacular, but it was neat extra information. Um... things're cool? Heeey, check this out: it's super cool. Thanks ZeppelinSRV! Hmm... nothing else is new. I've still got a cold, but I'm getting better, which is cool.

Adios everyone! Have a good night and all.

EDITION: Stupid FTP not letting me update last night. Well, I guess I'll tag things onto here, for the sake of, erm, adding something along with my edition. Saharas is just like Sinbad's. There are a few differences, both good and bad, which make it different but not inferior. I've found my Sinbad's substitute, and now all is as it should be. Huzzah! I just wish we'd've found this place early summer. Oh, and for those not "in the know" Sinbad's was the Middle East buffet we hit every week of High School and which had the most awesome pita+lamb+chicken+rice+potatoes+humus combination imaginable. It shut down the Summer after Freshman year of college, causing Sinbad's deprivation among all those involved. But no longer! Thank You Sahara's! Huzzah!

What About Bob?

My bro was talking about this movie today. If you haven't seen it, you really should. I thought it was one of Bill Murray's funniest newer works, and it's also got Richard Dreyfuss of Mr. Holland's Opus fame. Check it our for some Hiarity!

Today involved Mein Tin's Chinese food, DDR, ping pong, Smash Brothers, Sealab 2021, and sword fighting. In other words, a good day filled with much hitting of things whether with feet or hands. It's always cool hanging with friends from here, though since I'm generally a reclusive weirdo (sorry everyone who thought otherwise) I don't see as much of peoples as I'd like to. But it's my own fault, so I can't really complain. Anyways, it was fun as usual.

The cold is on the upward swing, where I'm slowly feeling better. It helps that I'm on those meds (ahh, how I love you Day/Ny-Quil) which keep my symptoms at a nice low level. It also helps that I'm getting plenty of sleep and getting good advice from peeps as to how to cure myself. It doesn't help that I stay up really late to update my site and do other online goodies, but such is the way of things. I mean, I can stop whenever I want to man. Really! And since I don't want to I won't stop - that way I prove that I could stop, but I don't have to! See? It's all so clear now. I'm so in control. I kick ass! Whooo! I'm king of the world! I am the King-Kame-a-me-a (or whatever). I am the Bull God! Hail to the Sun God, he really is a Fun God! Ra ra ra! The penitent man kneels before God! But in the Latin Alphabet Jehova begins with an IIIIIIiiiiiiiiii! *falls over* Woah, I think I had a brief God complex. You say I have a God complex?! I AM GOD! Mwahahahahaha!

Later humble worshippers/non=believers. I shall bless thee with my presence sometime later. For yea, so it was written (here) and so shall it be done. Humble fact: Since the writing of the Bible, nuclear wars have gone up infinity-percent. How's that for a fact? The same sort of fact is, oddly enough, used to prove that D&D is evil. Way to go Chick. Oh, and here's the July archives, if you're interested.

Bush Monkey!

Thank you Eileen! Here's the Bush - Monkey I'd mentioned yesternight. Enjoy his Presidential demeanor, and see pictures of Bush too.

Finding Me, Yo!

Shit! You found me! Heheheheeh. Ooooh, boy. Sorry, it's late and I'm all doped up on Nyquil. Nothing like narcotics to take the cold right out of ya. Narcotics, chicken, sprite and (so I'm told) liquor. Right now I'm just doing Sprite, Nyquil/Dayquil and Vitamin C. Hopefully that'll work.

Finally saw Finding Nemo which was really good. Sadder than most Pixar films, but good. I'll review it some time tomorrow. I also chilled at Kate's house, which was a lot of fun. Catching up is coooooool. Especially with peoples you haven't seen in a long time. We played a lot of Ping Pong, me and Blatt ended up even on the game scores, though usually he beats me. Maybe I've improved a little, I guess. Politically our views are drastically different, but I don't see why that should make a difference. We were all compatriots there, even if some of you did like Bush. *grumble grumble*. If any of you can point me to the Bush-Monkey picture comparison flier/poster, it would be hugely appreciated. And if any of you could give me the quick and easy Javascript "make little signs pop up when you hover the mouse over a link" instructions, that too would be appreciated.

Life is unusual right now, with a 60% chance of rain. The cold appears to be moving on with possible school in the next three weeks. Sunny skies are in the forecast as friends are awesome and there's always funny things in the world. Speaking of which - see SeaLab 2021! Have I made it clear that this is really funny stuff? I'd put it in my ftp if I thought it'd fit. That's how good it is! See? See?!

Here's a site for all the ladies. Maybe some of the guys, I'm not one to discriminate. Enjoy! Later.

Totally Sick, Dude!

I've got a bitch of a cold, my ears are stopped up, my throat hurts and I'm snuffling. If you've got a voodoo thing that'll heal me, please go right ahead. I'm drinking my Sprite, see if that helps. I'm also gonna hit the bed early - hopefully that'll help, too.

Today was rather uneventful. I've almost beaten Eternal Darkness the second time through against Ulyatov or some such. The Blue Russian Ancient. I don't really know what I'm talking about... I ate Mexican food with my peeps Ronnie and Mike though, that I'm sure about. The Middle Eastern place, Saharas, was closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Sons of bitches! *shakes fist!* Well, we'll hit them during the week. Please pray for my speedy recovery - I'll try to get more to you tomorrow.

Ooh, I do have some links I wanted to share - Happy Tree Friends is like Itchy and Scratchy only more graphic. If you wanted to see real Itchy and Scratchy cartoons, this is as close as you can get. Also, check out the Bad Boys 2 review - its short because I'm suffering. But it is there, so please use it to decide on seeing it or not. I'd like to greet all the people from Colorado looking at my site today. Wassup! Apparently someone from University of Colorado has this address as I tend to see them in NedStat. Heya!

Oh, and in case you've forgotten: Sealab 2021 is friggin' hilarious. Watch them! Get Bizarro! Get Chickmate! Go! Fly! Or I'll interrogate you with my breasts! Heeheehee.

What a Friday

Well, it all began with work - which only went til noon since its a Friday and Dr. Taravath loves golf. I got free lunch from a drug rep who came to talk to Dr. T about depacote (seizure medication). It was Quizno's and was quite good despite the lettuce. I moved on to a mall trip because of the tax-free day which included sales on everything. Nabbed some jean shorts, jeans, and a new laundry hamper for college. Now, since when did jeans cost 50 bucks? I thought they were about 20 and everything was happy. Thankfully the jeans were on sale for $27, but had they not been... sheesh. Anyhow, things went well at the mall. This was followed by gime-ing where things again went well - it'd be tough for something to go wrong.

Dinner followed soon after, and then a trip to one of the local cafe's - Taylor Books where Liz and Emily work. They also had this guy who played a chapmanstick which manages to sound like two guitars and a bass. Quite honestly the most amazing single musical instrument I've ever seen. This guy's hands were zooming around making sounds that seemed to come from four different instruments. Talk about efficiency. I bought one of his CD's and hung out with my bro and his pals until 9:30.

This was followed by a trip to Ron's house, an invite only par-tay. Basically there was beer (of which I did not partake), Super Troopers, Asshole and some computer videos. If you haven't played Asshole, it can actually get pretty complicated. I didn't play since it was a drinking game, but I managed to get the general jist of the whole thing. The President gets to make his/her own rules after a a successful term and those're what made the whole thing interesting. Mike switched people's names and disallowed pointing. Infractions were punished by beer drinking (horrible to the players, I'm sure). Christina made Blatt (who just arrived for his one week Summer break) play with his arms in his shirt, a la T-Rex. And Bart implemented the cussing rule where whenever he cussed, everyone else had to cuss and the last person to cuss had to drink. All in all the whole thing was a lot of fun to watch.

We followed this up by watching those computer movies I mentioned. The first few were StrongBad E-mail, which is a requirement at these sorta things. The next one was SeaLab 2021 which is quite possibly the weirdest show I've ever seen. And hilarious. Check it out if you can - I recommend the "Bizarro" episode.

All in all it was a very fun-filled day where everything went awesomely. As for Sinbad's - we plan to hit the other Middle-Eastern buffet place and see how that one is. I'll inform you regarding that on the 'morrow. And check out the reviews for the Bad Boys 2 review. As well as the soon to arrive archive link for the month of July.
