So, this year I've acquired, via the power of a decent sized single, the ultimate in trans-dimensional voids: a Dork Space. Let me explain, no wait... that would take too long. I will summarize.
I have a nice 10x10 space with a tv and fridge in it. A normal person might place a futon here (though that would take some doing) or perhaps an area for eating and the like. But no, I (and many many of my friends) am a dork. Actually, I think as far as dorky things go I may have the biggest share in RoundTable. Thus, in my room, the density of dork (anime, PS2, Cube, TV, computer games, fantasy novels, D&D rule books) is much greater than the density of dork in the surrounding area. Thus, dork is sucked into my room due to an incredibly high gravity. It's true. Like Bart Simpson's cone of ignorance, only with dorkitude.
Because of this, I have drawn Abhijit and his awesome Ignition DDR pads to my room. I now have a DDR space in that 10x10 space. Today, via the magic of an S-Video cable and a USB/Playstation adaptor, I have unlocked the potential for unlimited songs. Mind you, I'm still going to buy the legit versions because... well, because. I feel like I'd be cheating Bemani out of its rightful share otherwise. But now I can play songs that I could only dream of playing (dream as in... have Albert plug his laptop in somewhere, but I digress).
As though that were the extent of this void of dork, I've also been told by my parents that a table that meets my specifications has been discovered. The table is low to the ground, like knee height, round and about 5x5 feet. It will go in the same 10x10 area, taking residence in the current DDR space. It is light enough to be moved around so as to limit interference with DDR. In the meantime, I shall draw our D&D sessions into... my room! *cackle!* Just like in the days of yore Freshman year. Woe to those of you who felt I was a loser before.
I should mention, too, that Jase's campaign is off to a beautiful start, creating its own vortex (which I know he's had following him for years) that has drawn in people who had never played D&D before. Very sinister Jase. In addition, I've joined him in this session, whereupon I've pulled out a street-fighting Rogue/Fighter... who's alias is "Oni." Catchy I know... *cough*
So, that's that. If you feel yourself being drawn to my room, it's probably the vortex. Which would explain why FFX and Pikmin 2 sounds have sometimes been heard to emanate from here. Just wait until my D&D table becomes the RT Magic: The Gathering table, too. Then I fear a black hole will be created... and all life will be doomed. (Because as we all know, dorks have no life.)
