Short'n'Sweet

Despite my newfound criticism of religious fanatics, today was a good day. Work, tennis, DDR, food, drawing, talking, rummi. I don't know that this requires further explanation... it was a rather droll day - although tennis went really well. Um, I did get up a new drawing, and I've come up with something I want in the comic to aid in the mockery of things (especially religion). Also, see more pix of my in a rasta hat which has now become my household attire. That's all new. Did you know, by the way, that D&D is the work of Satan? Well, Chick (no relation to Corea) certainly think so.

Can you believe its almost time for School again? Ugh. This stuff'll all be in archives soon, I guess. Weird. Oh, and Blatt's in so I'm gonna go on the quest for Sinbad's. We'll see how it goes.

Christianity HARDCORE!

First, check this site out and browse through the expansive list of science projects (and I use the term loosely). Note such wonderful scientific possibilities as evolution through prayer, Pokemon disproves evolutionism, and women were designed for homemaking. Now, I'm generally a very tolerant person and accepting and everything. But, let's face it, these adults are brainwashing their children. Some of these projects are made by 18 year olds who can't tell the difference between a scientific proof and total bullshit. Not to mention that the values instilled in these kids reflect some of the worst kinds of ignorance. It allows no room for other ideas, subjugates others, and ignores piles of scientific data in order to constrain themselves completely to the Bible. I mean, I'm Christian in some weird sense of the word, and let's be honest - the Bible is a book filled with metaphors and other literary shit. Sure, some of it may be more reality based than other parts, but to take the whole thing as "this shit happened" is just crazy. Not to mention the reason so many hate christians. All in all christians aren't bad people - but you only hear about the KKK member, gay hating, women beating, cousin-fekking (look, I censored myself) white trash sons of bitches. They're like the Taliban of Islam, only they're right here. They even blow shit up - OK City anyone?

Okay, we've established that these hard-core Christian groups can really suck. Just to show how widespread this is I show you a mockery website that makes fun of all things Hardcore Christian. Watch as they make fun of gay bashing, Irag, Siamese twins, hypocrites, and obsessive movie and book categorization. And look at the merchandise! How fun.

Many thanks to Katie H. for the link-loving.

Wednesday TO THE MAX!

Today was a good day, everything seems to have gone very well. Like things had to go my way? Sh'know? Firstly, Dr. Taravath's was cool. I actually may have made a difference as, while researching Bell's Palsy I found an article saying that in infants facial paralysis could be an early sign of leukemia but was often misdiagnosed as Bell's. So he had some extra tests run just in case. I mean, obviously the odds that this wee kid's going to have leukemia are really low, but who knows right? Just maybe it'll get caught really early 'cause of that or something. At least I can pretend. Now, does this go against nature? Maybe the kid would've been healthier if hed never had any of these tests done. *shrug* Being a doctor's all about tampering with life I guess, so for me that argument's always been moot.

I also joked with him about his patients tomorrow. Thursdays are sleep patients, and generally his suggestions for curing the disorders (generally sleep apnia) go something like this: "Lose weight, exercise daily, sleep earlier, don't take caffeine." So I told him I'd take half his patients if he needed me to, and I'd just tell them I was his "new partner, Dr. Caceres." I look forward to my promotion.

After that I finally found a miniature I'd been looking for and purchased DDR MAX because I'd played out Konamix. Now I have all new songs to play to! And I've got my brother into it again so we can play versus. It was creepy at one point 'cause we were both playing some Basic and were doing identical moves. Granted then I moved on to do Maniac and my bro stayed at Basic so the moves were vastly different, to say the least. Some of those songs're hard! But eventually they'll succumb, just like all the others. I think Death said it best: "IT SURE IS STUFFY IN HERE." Actually, I don't know how that applies. But I thought maybe someone better than I could pull it off.

After that there was Bad Boys 2 which'll have a review up sometime, and s'more DDR. The movie was good, though I thought some things were overdone or exaggerated. But that's just me. My bro and Annie loved it. Oh! That reminds me - there's only five of us left at the house as my other relatives have packed and gone as of this morn. And I ate an apple at work. I felt healthy, though hungry. Apples do not a meal make. Chicken, beef and sausage - now that's a meal. Which, coincidentally, is what I had for lunch. Albeit in small proportions. But nonetheless.

Ooh! I had one more thing I wanted to announce: a friend of mine's got some pix running on a site - give it a look see. The idea is look at the pictures and add your own caption(s). Some're very funny - Just click on Pictures to get there. Comes Highly recommended. My friend's Praetorian Stalker (aka Hamilton) from Georgia Tech. You can figure out which one I am.

Actually, one last thing I hadn't seen until now: Strong Sad as Gorby! And the sad story of a story... that was sad.

Osama has Risen 3 Points Today

I think that headache stuff is long gone. And without self-medicating either. I'm so cool. *cough*

I thought this was an interesting article. It covers the whole terrorism stock market thing. Now, follow me on this one. Why would the FBI want the general public to help them with intelligence? Why not just use a lifeline and "phone a friend"? Would they like an "American Terrorist" show that could have everyone phoning in to choose who the most dangerous terrorist threat to America was? I mean, it'd probably be a dead heat between George W. and Rumsfeld - and you know in the end the funny looking white guy would lose by just a hair. Oh, they're BOTH funny looking white guys. Well, let's just have a large black guy beat them up and call it square.

But seriously, the public is not an expert in these matters. That would be my first hint that this sorta thing wouldn't work. My second would be the whole principle behind it. Let's see who gets blown up first! The newest in entertainment. Eventually, if this became popular enough, it could become a large sports-like phenom. Everyone would bet thousands in the hope that they could win. Or Hell, some crazy sunuvabitch (be warned, it's dirty) might just go and terrorize some place so he could win and be famous. I'd love to pretend there's not some crazy guy out there who'd do that, but then again I'm forced (on a somewhat regular basis) to live in the real world where nice people don't always win and the end of the story isn't "happily ever after" and whatnot. Fortunately, I can pretend things that aren't true and still be happy... but I'm getting side-tracked.

I'm just saying that intelligence shouldn't be obtained by asking those severely lacking it. There's a reason CIA/FBI/etc. operatives have to undergo specific training - we the regular people are just guessing about terrorism and asking us is like a High School election - we're just gonna go by whoever we know best. Or whoever the media asks us to vote for. Stupid CIA...

Working Girl... Boy

Another headache free day. Go me!

I worked again today at Dr. Taravath's office. Now that he's back from India and all. I also went gime-ing today, as promised. I really do feel fitter. Buffer, maybe not. But fitter. Which I guess counts as something. And there are muscles on me which were not present before. Some of which I didn't even know existed. How weird is that?

Anyhow, that's not the most interesting thing about today - I sung Santeria by Sublime (badly) at Unos with Robbie. Like I said, I sung badly. But I think I was on-key most of the time. Pshh, whatever. I got up and sang in front of a live studio audience. That's what counts. If I stop sucking as much, maybe I will try out for HnH again. Sure it blew the first time, but... well, I need to suck it up like a drunken sorority girl (at a keg stand you perverts) and get back to it. At least if I do better the next time I can stop beating myself up for my previous performance.

I work tomorrow, so I'd better hit the bed soon, but I want you all to know I made a new comic that I think makes up for the last one. It helps that this one had some creative assistance from Eileen Kuo, author of The Silhouettes. So enjoy (hopefully)!

Cthulhu for 2003!

No headache today! Huuzah! I think it may have been due to my extra sleep hours and almost total lack of stress today. Not even gimeing since that's been delayed til tomorrow. HOpefully my headache won't ever come back and things will return to the state they were in before this year when headaches were a thing everyone ELSE got, but not me. Oohhh, how nice that would be. Damn... that rhymed. Curses!

Anyhow, you may be wondering about the title of the post. Well, quite simply a website was brought to my attention by good friend and worshipper of the Great Old Ones - John. I don't know how many of you follow anything HP Lovecraft-wise (well, I know some of you know Metallica's "Call of Ktulu" instrumental) but they're really creepy stories. If any of you also happen to read Mac Hall then you probably know something about the "littlest elder god" Cthulhu. Anyways, the point is that I believe DSG could use a little bit of ancient wisdom from beyond what mortal minds can fathom. If I still remember this when DSG elections roll around, I fully intend to put fliers up for Cthulhu, possibly with running-mate Yog-Sothoth.

I intend it just as a joke, no insult towards DSG or anything. I mean, I may not like a lot of the people on there (though they do have a bitching-keen site) but I'm not politically savvy enough to know if I can blame DSG for their lack of student representation or "the system" for not allowing them much room to do things in. I just think Cthulhu fliers would be quite possibly one of the dorkiest things I could do on campus that might have some sort of weird impact. That and really get DRAGO started. Which reminds me - would anyone be interested in that sorta thing?

Anyways, I'll catch you all on the flip-side. Sorry about the lack of good material on here. But worry not! I'm not giving up this site - Ever!

Pain in the Membrane

Sorry fellas . . . I've been living with a head ache for about a week now, and I just wasn't in a drawing mood this weekend. I did put out one comic, but I'm not particularly happy with it. It was a lot funnier in my head and in a real conversation. As it is . . . it just feels like half a comic, like Overholser. You know what I mean?

Anyways, my grandmother leaves tomorrow after being here for about 3 months. It's been good, but she has a tendency to really get on my nerves. I mean, don't get me wrong - she's family. But she also tends to talk down to me and pretends not to hear things that don't suit her. Not to mention that she holds beliefs I'm not particularly in agreement with. But, so be it. Anyhow, there's still four other relatives here at home so there won't be any shortage of house guests. Heh.

I went gime-ing today. Next I'll go Tuesday, sometime before Karaoke at Uno's. I will go up and sing Sublime this time. Oh yes. And all will tremble, and fear my moo of fury! Ahem, sorry.

Anyhow, see you all on the 'morrow!

Dude, Where's Your Update?

Dude? Did you miss a night? Yeah... sorry. I guess I kinda did. No good reason either, but anyways. I'm updating now, right? So, I'm not missing an update, I'm just in a new time-slot. Anyhow, things're good. Rarely have I been able to say that this Summer and really mean it, but now things're actually good. Not so much tension, not so much dread. If only Weasel would get magically better... Well, that's not likely to happen I guess, but I'll keep on hoping for it anyways.

I did not go to the gime yesterday, but I'm gonna be going in an hour or so. I figured it out - F-Sun-Tu-Th-Sa. That way I still only miss the one day, but I don't go two days in a row (which isn't good because your muscles haven't had a chance to rest, so the work out's not as effective). I checked my body fat percentage thingie again and it was around 8%, which is in the excellent range... which doesn't make any sense to me. Maybe I just have hidden muscle somewhere. Or perhaps since my head is big, my brain takes up a lot (empty space counts, too I guess). Anyhow though, I do feel healthier and I bet I could kick more people's asses than I could, say, last Summer. Though, I should hit Tae Kwon Do to really get that back. Maybe this year'll be the year. If not, well, I'll still be going to the gym about 3x a week. At least, I hope I will be. Certainly once a week, I can pull that off on Fridays no problem.

Has anyone seen the commercials for the new ending of 28 Days Later? Those smarmy British bastards made a second ending and released it 28 days after the release of the movie! Smeggin' wankers! Now I HAVE to go see it again... they're making me see a movie twice! I mean, great movie I would've seen it twice if someone I knew wanted to see it with me. But, on principle! Savvy? It better be a good ending. From the commercials it looks like it's something pretty horrible. I suspect the girl leaps out of the guy's chest or something and then grows up into an Alien which hides in their car and they have to fight off somehow. Or perhaps the zombies make an army... an Army of Darkness, which they use to take over the rest of the world. Oooh yeah. Anyhow, I suspect it won't be as "happy" as the movie ending was the first time around. Hoo hah!

Unless someone has a complaint to present, D&D shall be upgrading to 3.5 Edition. I've looked through the books and there's nothing there that causes problems or radically changes things. On the other hand, there IS a lot in the books that'll help balance things out. You'll have some extra skill points now, too. Skills were consolidated, so more points to spread the goodness with. Not to mention the whole "average roll" for Hit Points has been fixed to adjust for that .5 that used to be rounded down.

And many thanks to Mike R for helping me with the review page with the information to get the links to work right. One HTML file babyyy! Yahahaaha!

The Arrival - Sans Charlie Sheen

So I went to the gym today. I think I'll go tomorrow, too. And then use Sunday as a break. Why? Well, 'cause I didn't go the rest of this week. If I hit the gime tomorrow I'll only have missed one day, which perhaps I can make up some other weekend, too. It's not that I'm obsessive about gime-ing, Hell, anyone could tell you that. It's just, I promised myself I'd not miss unless I had no other choice and I intend to keep that if at all possible. Hence, extra gime days for missed opportunities.

No comic yet, though I do have the scripts thought out and processed. Like I said, I just need to get the free time open to actually go and draw the things. It just wasn't here today. Why? Well, two Spanish video scenes along with supermarket, gym, and taking care of house guests (this included but was not limited to such acts as remote control flow-chart description and SimCity management consultation). Who are these magical house guests? Why, it's my grandmother, my aunt and my 12 year old cousin! All on my dad's side I might add. So, its fun but its work.

Speaking of work, Dr. Taravath comes in on Monday, I think, and I guess I'll be going back to shadowing him for a while more. Unfortunately, our research study hasn't gone anywhere due to a lack of response and force going at the peoples. I dunno... it's hard stuff.

I expect to see even more Pirates of the Caribbean by the way. G'damn right? Heheheehh, but it's just such a good movie! Savvy? Ooh, and check out Sinfest Its such a great comic and it has the best dog and cat action I've seen online. I really like the way they both are - they're like Everydog and Everycat. How deep... There's plenty of other comics with them, too. Look through the archives! I'll bet you love them. Promise. Of course, a lot of you probably already read Sinfest, in which case I can only say that I like Sinfest and that you should, too. Heheh.

Triumphant Return

I returned on Thursday, as promised. That means things went well on our trip, and everyone's doing fine, thank you very much. Thanks for your well-wishes and thanks to whoever called my cell phone (sorry I didn't pick up in time). Call back! Pleeeeease.

I have to apologize humbly for an oversight of mine. I promised comics and D&D stuff, but I only ended up with D&D stuff. There just wasn't much time on the trip, and there was even less space to do drawings. I did finally come up with neat stuff to do in the D&D sessions that I hope will eventually be played. I wonder how the group's doing?

Anyways, promise I'll do at least two comics over the weekend, I already have one complete in everything but drawing, and... well, I'll figure something out for that second one. I should probably finish the two story fragments I have running... in particular the laundry one. Yeah, I think I'll do that. I have quite a list of things to do in that one... excellent. See youse guys later.

The Day Before Monday

But not just any monday, mind you. Monday the 21st - July. This week's held some significance for a bit now. Hopefully it'll be filled with good things. I should be back Thursday night, I'll see if I can update at all from Cleveland, OH. If I can... well, I imagine I won't have too much to say but you'll get updates in some form or another if it's possible. Even if it isn't, I'll be drawing a few comics and working on "the D&D" and what have you. Oh, hi to anyone visiting from the 3rd Edition boards *wave*. Good to have you here.

Today was the end of the tennis finals, James Kent won the two Open divisions - again. Damned pro bastard *shakes fist*. I also hope I can get some commie hat pictures in, but I'm having trouble with my FTP server - you'll be able to find them somewhere once I'm done. I'm... considering another section of the site, too. A picture section, with some explanations below the pic. I'd like to get pull-down menus to work before I did that, though. I don't think that'd actually be possible... but I'd like to try to get that whole new-fangled "javascript" thing to work, dagnabbit.

Anyhow, I'll leave you all with a quote from Blair's site: "To grow up you must experience pain. To become yourself you must be able to go further and further away." ~Not Marika

I'll see you on Thursday.

Saturday 3.5

Arighty, I'm writing those Reviews as we speak. I'm still trying to find a way to get the "link=#name stuff" to work between two different HTML documents so that the links don't require totally new HTML files to work right. If anyone can tell me how that'd work, I'd be much appreciative. Otherwise, go see the Reviews since I did go and write them. You do want to make me happy right? *grin*

Ooh, so I bought the 3.5 Dungeons and Dragons books with my acting money. I'm reading through them, neat stuff in the three. I'm rather happy with them, even though I'm sad at the price. Amazon had them at about $20 cheaper, but I wouldn't get them for another two weeks or so. I figured the two weeks was worth 20 bucks - I mean, if I just saved a buck every day for two weeks I'd make up that money. Not that I'm going to do that... but hypothetically and stuff.

My parents came back today from their wee trip and things seem quite good. We'll be leaving again on Sunday and I'll be returning Thursday evening to really finish up my brief acting stint.

As for today, I played a lot of Eternal Darkness again, though at the moment I'm stuck on a rather difficult boss. I also missed the gym... an error I plan to correct tomorrow. It wasn't my fault though - there were a lot of things that needed to be done, and they could only be done at certain times. Unless I bum out tomorrow, I still haven't missed my 3x a week goal. I guess I will this next week though, unless I can find a free gym where we're staying. I guess it's possible - I hope I do find one so I can keep feeling accomplished and it'll help me distract myself, too.

Ooh, and guess what! A friend of mine's making a big geek website, and he's asked me if I'd be interested in putting my comic on it. Yay! My comic's going places... I guess I should update more. I'll have plenty for when we get back after this week, probably two or three to toss up. Then you'll be sorry you ever doubted in my "mad comicing skills!" Or not. Wish me luck!

If You're Happy And You Know It

Well, today was an . . . well, it was a day. My parents and Annie are gone for today and arriving tomorrow evening. I watched some tennis today, too. Then I get back, play some Eternal Darkness (great game). I also get to talk to someone I hadn't talked to in a while, which was nice. Apparently I still come off as an idiot sometimes, but I don't usually intend it. If I do intend it, it'll have the word "Jewmbie" or "savvy" in it. Otherwise my intentions are good, if slightly humorous. Okay, I promise that by the end of tomorrow I shall have some new Reviews. Other than that, I don't think there's much else to say? Um... nope. Can't say I have anything else to say 't'all. Good night everyone!

Fekkin' A

"A year ago some bitch left her newborn baby in a shopping cart in the parking lot of a hospital. The kid was found 12 hrs later covered in ants by an employee. She was sentenced to 5 months probation and she got her kid back today. One year and she gets a kid she effectively left for dead, back. She left a newborn child out to die, and she gets 5 months probation. There's a cop I read about. He was in prison. He was sentenced to 45 - Life for killing somebody. That somebody molested his 5 year old son. The cop killed him, got 45 years in prison. He won't get out til his kid is well into his 20's.

Let's go over this. Fat bitch leaves her kid to die in parking lot, gets 5 months probation, and her kid in 1 year. Father kills man who ruined his child's life, in exchange loses his and any chance he has of helping his kid lead a somewhat normal existance.

Go our government."
------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks Dan for that nice story. Assuming the facts are true (and I see no reason not to assume that) I think there's a serious problem somewhere in there. The system may not be broken, but the blue screen of death shows up every so often and really fucks with someone's life. Fekkin' A.

Bolos

I'll try to keep this update short and perhaps go into more detail tomorrow. I'm tired and kinda bummed that something I was hoping would happen, didn't happen. But the day was very excellent. I hung out with my bro's friends (whom in actuality are my friends as well, but it's as good a designator as any) because it was Emily's birthday. She was kidnapped my Dave, my bro, and Liz - apparently it was very interesting and involved rope, a blindfold, ski masks, a Commie hat and the MI2 and COPS themes playing.

I bowled horribly, of course, and ended up with 3rd out of 4. I would've had second but my brother pulled out 3 strikes in the last three frames. Bastard! Afterwards was cake at Liz's house - prepared by my bro and her. The icing (vanilla a la Al) was very good. I stayed and talked to Mrs. Scharf (Liz's mom) for a good while, reminiscing about Chemistry class and talking about her future Chemistry classes. Then outside with the others to talk about some very unusual things.

I'll keep quiet about that 'cause I think it'll be a comic soon. Here's a hint: Remember to eat Kosher. If you can tell me what the conversation was about from that - e-mail it to me. I'll make you something cooool and special. I dunno what... but something. Now, good night to all you faithful readers. I'll talk to you tomorrow, assuming I can stop playing Eternal Darkness on the Cube. *wink*

Faking It

Well, another eventful day in the (very small and uneventful) world of Camilo (aka Doom Duck, as one clever AIMer deduced). To get rid of this first - the Comics section has been completely revamped. It's seriously cut down on the amount of HTML I had to do to insert a comic, and hopefully that means I'll make and insert more comics. Sounds good, yah? I hope you like.

I went back to the Karaoke bar at Uno's today. Our song (unfortunately, it was Country Roads) was not called up, but I did decide on a definite song for next time. Santeria by Sublime came through for our decision. Next week I won't be able to go, but the week after that I shall return triumphant. Today was fun nonetheless, and it gives me a chance to catch up with people I rarely see. Apparently, though, it is a tradition for some nasty-looking drunk girl to get up and sing half the songs with the person actually singing. Ugh... well, not everything can be like berries.

Today was also my last day in my "acting debut" which was a huge success. I had to act as though I was in terrible pain - I moaned and groaned, but worry not: I was only faking *wink*. They said I did a good job, so hopefully that's actually the case. I can't imagine a reason for Alex to lie to me though, so I guess maybe I have some sort of "ability" at acting. Maybe I'll try out again for HnH? Ah, the many questions the future holds for me right now. Many many. One might even say there are a plethora of questions.

Finally, my GameCube arrived with my parents over the weekend so I can now return to playing. Ahhh, how I missed you my GameCube.

Call Me Julio

Aright, first off I want to point you to the Links section. It has been updated and fixed to the extent I wanted for now, though I'm pondering the use of another iFrame to make it easier on the eyes. Speaking of which, e-mail me if you think the weird color design is bad - otherwise I'll just assume it works and leave it alone.

Well, today my brother lost to Ciro and Horacio at the tennis tourney. And Ciro and Scott Harper lost there game. But, Ciro and Horacio play on Wednesday against the #2 seeded team (they were robbed seed-wise), which should be an excellent game. Myself - I went to the gym, watched games, watched LXG. I'll put up a review later, but for now suffice it to say I was hoping for better, but expecting worse - so it resulted in a decent movie, but not a good one by any stretch.

Ooh, and my biggest achievement of the day - I made two Spanish scenes! I was very happy about that. I am Julio and I am travelling to Guatemala for some reason that I don't really know yet. The plot's shaky, to say the least. But I did make money, and I helped production along by suggesting some scenes. I was pretty proud of that - we're heading to Dr. Taravath's office for a scene where I've "hurt my ankle."

Speaking of which, since I know you're all very concerned, my foot feels fine, though it still hurts sometimes. That's it for today . . . please visit the Links section, it has a lot of time put into it for a small gain. But it is there now, with everyone's links - I think.

G'night.

Version 2.0

Heehee, I hope you like the new layout. I just wanted to make the updates condensed, since as it was you had to scroll all the way to the bottom if you wanted to see anything. It was most irritating, I thought, thogh changing that required several other alterations - which resulted in a much greater understanding of HTML actually. I hope to go through all the major pages and change it something fierce. Comics, reviews, and add that Links page. Actually, I'll probably add the links page first, as soon as I completely finish off the front page. There's still a few things I'd like to tag onto the sucker, and I intend to do that post-haste.

So, today was a blast. As I mentioned yesternight, me and Anthony hit the courts for a tennis tournament. Unfortunately, we knew the two we were playing were a few steps up from our abilities. We played really well though and pulled out a game. It turned out that the one fellow wasn't that good at all. The problem was that the other fellow (Shane) was what one might term an "ass-kicker" and so any ball that went remotely near him resulted in us losing (eventually). They had to put up a fight though, they couldn't stand back and let us win. No sirree bob. We may have lost the match, but we won... um, in our hearts. Or something. Especially since the game we won was on my serve. Heheheh.

This was followed by Marc Lee's graduation party. Because of his Philipino heritage, there were many Asians at the party. Food was plentiful, and the dance floor was hot. Not because of the people dancing - there were actually very VERY few. It was because I was dancing, of course. *grin* I cut up the dance floor, just me and a bunch of the "ladies" - almost all the guys were more dance-shy than I was. Weird. Well, I danced more than most people, and then in my search for a soda discovered a piano and a bar. The bar was well-stocked... Pepsi was plentiful. The piano was played by a true virtuoso. Little did everyone know that I had enough of an ear to figure out Simpsons, Mario (Underground, Underwater, and Standard), Final Fantasy, and In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida (by I. Ron Butterfly). Not to mention my mad Girl from Ipanema skills. I also learned The Entertainer from Anthony, and helped Dave with his Star Wars theme. I added the sound effects and Chewbacca yell. I think I'll put up a .wav of that. Not now since its 1:00 AM, but remind me and I'll put that up on the 'morrow.

I made a great business discovery today, too. Some friends are making Spanish teaching videos and they needed a Julio. They'd asked my bro but being incredibly lazy and, well, not-looking-for-money he turned it down. So, I'm making four Spanish teaching videos at $60 a pop. That's 240 bucks for about 10 hours of work, tops. 24 simolians an hour... sure it's inconsistent but how many of you can claim that kinda wage? Heehee. Anywho, I'm gonna get to work on that Links page (I think) and hit the bed early for my 9 AM Julio session. Oh! That reminds me, I left something unexplained yesterday: "You can always trust a dishonest man, honestly. It's the honest ones you have to watch out for, 'cause you never know when they're going to do something... stupid." There.

Praise Bacchus!

Dishonestly (I'll explain later), I believed today would be a pretty hum-dum kinda day. After my parents got back in though, we had ourselves some pork, rice and potatoes and then I headed off (this'd be around 10:00) to Harper's house. I was actually the first one there and felt bad 'cause I walked in expecting other people only to find Harper talking to his family and some friends of his sister's. Fortunately, they were expecting people and I didn't interrupt anything, I just felt funny at first.

If you need proof, by the way, that this is a small world, you'll be seeing it here. My dad's extant nurse, Lindsey McSomething, was friends with Katie Gardner. Also, one of my neighbors was there, too because she was best friends with Lizzie. Two connections at one party... well, I thought it was weird anyways.

Anyways, after everyone else arrived, there was much debauchery to be had. Beer was present, as was cigarettes and pool/billiards. Remember when I said I was considering letting loose every so often? Well, if you know me well enough, I think you know just what portion of the debauchery I was present in.

That's right, I played a mean game of pool. I made a jump-shot cut into a side pocket without knicking the table. I was very proud of myself. *grin* Sure it's once in a lifetime, but for that once I felt like I could actually play pool. Honestly though, at the beginning of the night I was missing shots left and right. Fortunately I realized what the problem was and managed to send a whooping Robbie's way.

Aside from pool, I've found that at these sort of shindigs, soirees and get togethers, that I talk to Joab a lot. He's a 5'11" boxing, black belt in Tae-Kwondo, 4.0 WVU student. He's also the nicest guy you'll ever meet and will always go out of his way to help someone (even if its just giving up his seat.) Anyhow, we get into a lot of good conversations and it's a great way to spend a night at a party - talking and making fun of those less afflicted by sobriety than us.

In addition, I found out Gordon has been working in Central America in a Rainforest Conservation project for the last half a year. Before that he was in England, and now he's going to Wesleyan for a semester followed by the Middle East. He's going places, even if he is just going as a hippy, heheheh.

I think I'll send out a "wassup" to the people there who's names I can remember - Harper, Al, Tolbert, Joab, Robbie, Bill, Tristan, Bart, Matt (Harper's Roommate), Kate, Anna, Lizzie, Lindsay, Cassady, Lauren, Christina, neighbor, Katie, Liz Lane, Gordon... Um, I think that's everyone. If I forgot someone its because I'm stupid, not because I actually forgot you. Heh.

Now, I updated my site and tossed up a new comic. I think its funny, as usual. We'll see.

Saturday Saturday SATURDAY!

We're in a tennis tournament this week - Public Courts as it were. Its pretty big "'round these here parts." My bro played today in singles - won the first match and then got put up with the #8 seed for the tourney. He played really well, but alas could not win. His game was on fire though. Bucu nice playing, savvy?

I also went to eat at a chinese restaurant who's name I can't spell . . . Mein Tin's I believe. Its not classy Chinese food, but it is $5.50 chinese lunch buffet. That's quality in my book. Me, Al, Mike and Tolbert. Good times, with many disgusting conversations - again. For instance, did you notice that according to the Chinese Zodiac menu my ideal mate is either 1975, 1987, 1979, or 1991. Maybe its just me, but some of those seem pretty extreme. Especially now when I'm in school. I think I'd rather find another pig, or perhaps a dog or rat. They're closer to my age.

I also finished off the comic I'd promised last night, though my ftp wouldn't allow uploading. Its up now though! I think its funny, but then I have that kind of sense of humor, you know?

Savvy?

Nothing much in the day, but that's how it is sometimes. Savvy? Arr, I did catch Pirates of the Caribbean again, and I've come to the conclusion that it is a great movie. Depp, that scalliwag, comandeered the movie from the other actors. Not to say the others didn't do great jobs themselves, arr, but Depp was just hilarious the entire time. Watch it. Now. C'mon! What're ya waiting for you scabrous sea dogs! See the movie! Its only PG-13, not Rated . . . . *giggle* Arrrrr! *falls over laughing*

Pirate jokes abound, as you'll see in the morn when the comic goes up (so close to done, so close to falling asleep). Technically I went "on a date" to the movie, except it was with Annie so it doesn't count in the least. It was just that my bro went with Liz as his date (she is his girlfriend after all) so me and Annie felt like we should go on a "date" as well. Other than gym and tennis, that really was the extent of my day. Not very exciting, huh? I dunno . . . I thought about getting another job, but since we have something we need to do in a week, it felt like a waste. *shrug*

As for the comic, look for it here tomorrow morning or afternoon. I'm still in the process of finding a drawing style for all the characters that I'm really happy with, so bear with me when the characters' features change slightly from day to day. And bear with my bad jokes for a bit more, too. Its just the way I am, savvy?

That reminds me, I plan to incorporate savvy into my vocabulary because of PotC. Savvy == neh? == like, ya know?== dontcha know == Don't you know. For the record, I think it's a bastardization of "sabes?" in Spanish, which means "Do you know?". Since the Caribbean was Europe controlled Hispanics, essentially, I think it would only make sense for some slang to develop from it. Savvy?

Math + Reality= Negative Bad

I just wanted to share Mike Ruhlin's (there should be an umlat in there, over the U) rules for office work. They' re mathematical of course: Rule 1- As time approaches 5:30, productivity approaches 0. Rule 2 - As time approaches 5:30, amount of coffee consumed approaches infinity.

They sound accurate to me. Though I did paraphrase the rules, so perhaps Mike can send me the formulae and I'll put what his rules actually look like.

That's the extent of my day's activity so far. I think I'll end with a song quote, or perhaps... yes I'll end with a song suggestion. Techno song (an oddity for me) Drowning [micro remix]. I like it anyways.

Weird Mood

There's so many things I could do that have the potential to be fun. There's plenty of activities to do, right now, right here. But none of them seems appealing at the moment. Funny mood, basically. I'm drawing, but it's just one of those days where it won't come out the way you want it to. I tried coding, but it doesn't draw any interest right now. TV might be a good source, but that's a last resort right now. Reading is another one, but I figure I'll do that just before hitting the bed. I'd really like something to do right now (maybe even someone, if you know what I mean.) I've even given up on WarCraft III right now because I know if I started playing I'd just lose.

I hate these funny moods, particularly two: 1)This one, 'cause there's no way out. 2) Sad angry because you don't know whether to punch something or sleep. Fortunately, I haven't done the latter in a long while. Unfortunately, the first isn't much better. Stupid funny moods. I know a couple of things that'd knock me out of it . . . maybe I'll try some of those - at least the ones I have control over (I don't suppose I have control over someone inviting me somewhere right now, for instance).

Hopefully this'll be gone by tomorrow, at least. As for today: my parents are out of town for an interview in Fayetteville, NC - an hour north of Duke I believe. Their plane from Charlotte to Raleigh was cancelled though, resulting in a 2 hour drive that was unexpected, to say the least. I don't really have any other news for youse guys right now. I hope that sated your Camilo-knowledge need for the day? Perhaps I can give some sage advice... no, not really. Witty story? Nope. Oh, well. I guess that's that.

EDIT: There has been an addition to the comics section - this is actually one of the first "scripts" I wrote. I got lazy drawing it, too. But it is a new comic, so hush you!

Weapons of Mass Destruction?

Go to Google and type in "weapons of mass destruction" but without the quotes. Then hit the "I'm feeling Lucky" button for some hilarity. C'mon man, everybody's doing it! I bet noone hears about it from here though. Maybe two people... if I'm lucky. Where are all my friends? I update, I add, and does anyone visit? Nooooo. Buncha bums. You know... I could set the building on fire.

Yo ho! Yo ho!

I want to begin today with the saddest injury ever known. I was up late last night playing WarCraft III and updating the website, the usual sort of stuff. Well, it was cold and my feet were cold so I sat on them, you know, knees bent and feet angled so I'm sitting on top of them basically. Well, I finish what I'm doing after an hour or two and move to get up. "Woah!" I think, "my feet are asleep. I'll just walk them off suffer the usual pins and needles and be off with it." So that's what I do - I get up and start walking out of the room. Then I begin to notice my feet aren't responding so well. Imagine a zombie shuffling in a movie (except for 28 Days where the zombies were fast) and you'll sorta figure how my feet were. Well, I started thinking to myself, "Hmm. Feet not work good. Must eat brains." Or something of the sort. Anyways, next thing I know my feet decided that they'd had enough crap and my foot, which was currently pointed toes into the floor, was lucky enough to bend backwards in a funny way as my other foot said "fuck you" the only way it knows how. So, my foot got bent funny, a little swollen, and it hurts to walk. I felt pretty bad. In a sense, I was injured because of the computer. A computer related injury (and not one that's self inflicted because the computer just crashed). How inevitably dorky of me.

Anyways, I thought that needed saying. I also went to see Pirates of the Caribbean with Cory Campbell (its only a 5 year age difference, he's a cool guy) which was an amazing movie. Go Johnny! And I hit the gym, too. I made a discovery at the gym - even if walking hurts you can still do the elliptical. Is there anything that little running machine can't do? I bet it could make a mean "Cock Sucker" if you put it behind a bar.

I also hung out with my bro's friends, who were here when I got back from the movie. I think I'm a sort of novelty to them, I dunno. They chose to just stay and chill with me - I guess I'm interesting in some way. I told them about an article on "sex roulette" that Shaw Island showed me a while back, but the article's been moved and I can't find it anymore. Shucks. Well, needless to say it was a disturbing article. I managed to make my bro's friends laugh, my usual goal for a night, so I felt good. Nothing much else happened today. Be sure to check out the Reviews section again - it's had some more sections added.

Oh, almost forgot. This is a very funked up comic. Who knew Stalin and Hitler had a mortal battle? Not I, certainly.

Uno Dos Tres

Aright, to begin with I've got some updates you'll surely enjoy down at Reviews. That's the first thing. I've got another comic on the way, too, so heads up.

Last couple of days have been gym and tennis, with a side of hilarity. New gal in town - Annie, I'm sure some of you remember her since she's been around "these parts" before. Terminator 3 was viewed with much abandon, twice, and karaoke was done today as well. I actually got calls from people - which made me very happy. I like getting calls, even if its just "Wasaaaa!" and essentially I got four calls in the last coupla days. Not much, but I've gotta aim low, shaknow?

Hmm... what else, what else... War3 of course, though I presume many of you already knew that. Gym and tennis... the usual stuff... I guess I can mention I feel like I'm getting muscles? That seems like it could be nifty for some of you to read and think "My, I bet he's a sexy Hispanic." I know plenty of you think that all the time, you've told me enough. I mean, I know I said there was more than enough of me to go around, but quite honestly you're all quite taxing . In all actuality, I'm pretty tired right now, so I'm gonna hit the bed. Adios compadres!

Here I Go Again

Sorry for the lack of updates since the 4th, but you have to admit I updated a lot that day, so I think recompension was in order. Besides - though this is old news to anyone who's seen my away message - I just got WarCraft III: Frozen Throne, so I'm, ahem, busy.

I have a lot of things I wanna put up here, probably within the next 24 hours or so, but for now I just wanted to point you towards this article which Tycho Brahe of Penny Arcade linked to (I could say he showed it to me, but that'd be a lie since he showed it to about 1 million people. I wish I had traffic like that *dreamy sigh*.) Anyways, I think the article is the first step towards understanding of video games - at least, more in that direction than when the news started saying that the sniper in Virginia/DC was "probably a computer gamer" who was locked in his parents' basement shooting people in "Doom" (they should at least mention the correct games - noone's shot people in Doom for a decade at least.) which of course grants them Navy SEAL-like sniping skills. Anyways, I thought that was necessary sharing.

Viva le Games!

Here I Go Again

Tired of hearing from me today? I mean, assuming anyone else chills on the internet on the 4th of July instead of boozing and partying, blowing stuff up, and the usual loud activities which constitute a pyromaniacs wet dreams. Heh, I guess that went on a bit long. I think it was suitably dramatic nonetheless.

I just found some interesting movie news tidbits I felt should be shared. For one, I found this at a review of The Hulk> on IGN and thought everyone should see it.

"Jennifer Connelly seems to be playing the same character she won an Oscar for in A Beautiful Mind, a beautiful woman trying desperately to save the brilliant man she loves. Only this time he turns green and smashes tanks instead of seeing Ed Harris everywhere."

Also, I thought it was funny to read this about Sean Connery in League of Extraordinary Gentleman.

"If they came to blows, do you think Norrington would be alive?"

Heheheheh, yeah, he probably wouldn't Sean Connery may be old, but he's as badass as they come . . . for a thespian. Anyways, enjoy the fireworks, enjoy the boozing, and have a great old time celebrating . . . um, celebrating . . . well, the 4th of July certainly. . . what was that movie . . . Ah! I have it! Independence Day! Enjoy Independence Day!

Mission Status Wimble: Done

Well, it looks like its time for the Finals of Wimbledon. For anyone watching, this is going to spoil the ending of today's games. So, be warned.

Roddick vs. Federer - Federer, the man from Switzerland (home of banks and neutrality) was on his game today. Poor Roddick, my hope for the winner of the tournament and successor of a large family of gigolos in Ye Olde Times (hence the name), couldn't get a ball past the guy. Federe's gonna play Philippoussis (like Mississippi) in the finals on Sunday, it should be an excellent game. Federer is playing great and is ranked #4, Philippoussis, unranked, whooped up on Andre Agassi with 40 Aces. I think it'll depend who's on their game on Sunday though I'm personally hoping for Philippoussis to pull out the win.

Venus Williams vs. Clijsters - Venus, despite an injury, won out the game. Gotta say, she had heart. Also gotta say that she's going to get beat on by her younger sister Serena. Its another Finals game with noone but the two Williams sisters to root for. What a shame . . . I was hoping they wouldn't win again. But then, I'm really bad about predicting things. I should probably stop - or start making calls in the reverse . . . excellent . . .

Hmm . . . other than that . . . oh, I'd never heard the phrase from Eileen's picture, so I feel better about not having gotten it. If it'd been something more obvious I mighta been able to figure it out. As it was, I would've just been combining random words - which is sorta what I was doing anyways.

Mofo!

Just wanted to point you in the way of a funny article. Everything at Corporate Mofo is top quality stuff. Though, be warned that some of it is a little weird. I especially like their Matrix article which I think has a great explanation. Be wary though, spoilers to be found there, aarrrr. I need to put up my links page . . . I feel bad not including everyone's stuff here, since I know several of them linked here. Besides, their pages are invariably better than mine. But, don't stop coming here! Plleeeeeeease!

Mate

Happy 4th of July to all you Americans out there! I'm sure you all have a ton of party plans and whatnot - boozing and celebrating. I know how it is, though I don't generally participate in it.

Also, check out the coolness of Dr. Taravath's office, right in these very pictures! Yay!

So, today was my bro's first real experience with D&D. I've started his one-man back story mission in the hopes that he'll get the hang of what's going on. He seems to be catching on quickly, and his favorite portion is the roleplaying aspect - which so far consists of pushing the edges to see what he can and cannot do. He's good at it - he really tries some weird things, including one that I hadn't even considered. Crafty Jandro, crafty. Anyways, I can't find the battle-mat/grid so we stopped just before the first battle where it would be necessary. It was onnly a 45 minute session, but he mentioned that it felt like 5, so I can see how he'd be very successful in our group. "6 hours? Felt like one or two, ah well. On to the next dungeon!"

I played ping pong and tennis today. Tennis went very badly, ping pong went 1-1, so decently. We also ate dinner with the Campbells, which I took the liberty of getting pix of. Sandy Campbell is a very talkative person, very gossipy. She's also very very nice and takes great care of everyone's kids whenever she has to. Really nice and really weird, too. She's got a few screws loose, I suspect. She tried to set me up with my brother's friend Emily (she's a soccer player) but I had to decline. She also started talking about hand size in relation to, um, how big you were . . . if you catch my drift. My mom argued that it was foot size that counted . . . it remains undecided to this day.

Hmm . . . not much else happened today, like I'd said before Czech Republic (and Germany too I realized, "Gutentag!") were present at some point recently . . . um . . . hiya! To fully understand the title of this post, you'll have to take the title of the previous post into account, by the way. Heh. And that's about it. Catch you tomorrow faithful reader(s).

Czech!

I just wanted to say "Welcome" or privítat to the visitor from the Czech republic. I don't know who you are, but the fact that someone from the Czech Republic would stop by here is enough to make me feel that my website is going places. Even if I don't know that you actually looked or read anything, I feel that I've made a site that brings people together from all over the world. If you happen to stop by again, might I ask what you think of Pres. Bush, if anything at all - its not like the whole world should care about our politics, we're not that important after all.

Aside from that, I don't think anything much is going on here . . . hmm . . . I'm trying to look at some DHTML to see if I can spruce the site up any. I guess I should update links on all the pages right now, so they can reflect the sections of the site that actually exist. But, I'll wait until I have all the sections decided on. No point doing it twice. Also, I'm quite aware that I'm posing with the hat, but what else was I supposedta do, ya know?

Um . . . I had a really bad headache this morning, from about 10 - 4. It kinda sucked, but its gone now. I also wanted to send a "thank you" or "gracias" to all the people who cheered me up when I needed it. You all rock! *air guitar!*

A Ritual

Forgiveness please. For the lack of an update yesterday, yes? Many thanks to you, humble patron.

Yesterday involved a nearly average day of work, only aberration was a 3 hour lunch period because of Dr. Taravath's presence at a different clinic. To make use of that time, I went and ate at Taco Bell with my bro, Liz, and Anthony - friends of his who have become friends of mine, very cool people. A long conversation was had, and I was told that I "Make references to references" leading to confusing conversations that, sometimes, only I find funny. I consider myself the Andy Kauffman of Taco Bell. Back at work I've been dubbed the office peon, or "little helper" if you prefer - but apparently I'm very good at it, heh. I took some pics yesterday, then again today because there were problems with the disk on the digicam. Also yesterday was my first private lesson with Ciro, the Colombian tennis instructor who taught #23 female tennisist in the world - Fabiola Zuluaga, and happens to be staying at our house for four weeks. Oh, I probably forgot to mention that . . . he came over the week before we left for Florida, so he's been here a while.

Anyways, he gave me a private lesson yesternight, and good God he makes you run. I was dying after only a half hour. The next half hour was tough. I feel like my backhand and forehand improved immensely, as well as my "kick serve" with some effect on it. I feel like I'm improving, which is always nice. after that some dinner, some ping pong, and some sleep, oh, as well as some time on AIM for anyone who caught me on there. "Hello everybody!" and some writing, which I'll get into, partially, later.

Day two involved more of work, with a few interesting things occurring. For one, I got to look up information on a disease called Haw River Disorder. Its a genetic defect found in african americans in North Carolina, specifically a community of them near Haw River (hence the name - doctors are so original). I felt important, heh. Also, I got to take back a broken laser printer that I hope to fix somehow and keep for my own evil purposes. Finally, it should be noted that this was my last day working at Dr. Taravath's office until August because he's taking a vacation to go to his son's engagement in India, and to see his family. I also got to talk with the IRB ethics person in the hospital in regards to the questionnaire study on caffeine and the reason people drink it. Not very helpful, though at least I have an aim now in reaching my goals of caffeine domination.

The rest of today was relatively uneventful, gym food and DDR, until my dad came back from a game of tennis to find his wallet had been stolen at the YMCA. Stupid focks - why do people steal? Is not stealing only possible with the presence of stealing? I guess I'd not thought of that. Maybe the YMCA lockers have an unusual Communist sub-government that we weren't aware of, thus making my dad's wallet public property? Who knows. Anyways, it sucks.

I've also got some pictures of myself wearing this badass jamaican hat. It makes me very happy to wear it, and I don't know why. My own weird hat world, I guess. This was taken shortly after a lot of DDR, so be understanding of the weird sheen on my arm, it looks kinda funny. Also, another tidbit for you to "feast" your eyes upon. Carpe Noctem has been looking for some articles for a Freshman pamphlet, and I've created one of my own. I'd be very happy if you read it and sent me comments on it - good or bad. I want this to look good before I send it into the editor, Ross. I think its funny, and my bro thinks its funny, but we have the same sense of humor. It'd be a sad day if my writing only made two people laugh. Hopefully you'll laugh, too, even though it sounds very bitter. Poor Freshmen. Heehee.

Final note, the archive link at the very top of the page should take you to the June Archives. I'll be getting a better link to it sometime soon, once I draw it.
