Charlotte -- just thought I would pass on the word from
Maya, who is having
a fantastic time in
you've got on the web, which include Maya with her
gorgeous birthday cake,
we got more news Friday when we talked with her on the
phone. She said
that she and Kathleen were awakened on Friday morning
with the sounds of
40-50 people singing outside their house, a Spanish
birthday song, to go
with the dawn, and it was absolutely wonderful. She couldn't have had a
more magnificent birthday than that! She says her homestay mother is the
sweetest person on earth, and she had a telephone
conversation with her
homestay father, whom she hadn't met yet.... because he
is working in
Spanish but with "How are you doing?" So the local links here with La Isla
continued to multiply.
