Hi All,

            Everything and everyone here continues to impress each of us. Progress on the community center is fantastic as we will surpass our lofty original goal of laying the foundation by the middle of this week and be able to begin to lay block. We had a great day after work Saturday, having a community tamale lunch. That evening the entire community convened at the school to again welcome us by singing songs, listening to Caitlin, Jamie and Kiernan perform music and presenting to us a short history of La Isla. This was all followed by a disco dance that seems to have bonded the young people of the community to us.

            We traveled to Metapan yesterday (Sunday) to watch the La Isla soccer team play. The soccer complex also had a pool with water slide that made the heat enjoyable.

            The adventures continue to be better and more abundant than anyone ever could have planned. Everyone in the group reacts to these adventures and challenges uniquely but every approach is positive and shows a real strength of individual character that is ultimately making this group more cohesive and wonderful with each adventure.

            As promised, about two thirds of the group has gotten good and sick to the stomach but everyone dealt with it well and has felt good for the last day or so.
