John D. Forsyth, Professor in the Fuqua School of Business of Duke University, teaches in the areas of Corporate Finance, Entrepreneurial Finance, International Financial Management and Corporate Strategy. His major research efforts deal with the strategic management of corporate financial resources. He has served as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs as well as Director of the Executive MBA Program.
Prior to joining Duke, he held faculty appointments at the International Management Institute, IMEDE, in Lausanne, Switzerland as well as Queen's University in Kingston, Canada and the Unversity of Illinois in Urbana, Illinois.
He earned his doctorate at the University of Illinois and his master's degree at the University of Detroit. Both of these degrees are in Business Administration, while his bachelor's degree from Queen's University is in Mathematics and Economics.
Dr. Forsyth has engaged in consulting in both government and industry. In these activities, he has consulted for more than twenty years in the area of resource management in regulated business organizations. Special emphasis has been on regulatory economics in the telecommunications industry. Also, he has consulted in the financial management and corporate strategy areas with a focus on the international environment. His consulting activities have taken place in both the United States and Canada, as well as several countries in Europe and the Far East.
Dr. Forsyth's publications include books, papers and cases. His current research work is concentrated on post-implementation project management and the interaction between resource management and changing environmental and market conditions.
