Pete Kyle

Albert "Pete" Kyle is Associate Professor of Finance at the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University. He teaches Corporate Finance, Advanced Corporate Finance, and Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management.

Professor Kyle received his B.S. in Mathematics from Davidson College, a B.A. in Mathematics and Philosophy from Oxford University and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago. He has served on the faculties of Princeton University and the University of California at Berkeley. He has visited at Monash University (Australia), Ecoles Nationale des Ponts et Chaussees (France), Yale University, and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. He joined the Fuqua faculty in 1991.

Professor Kyle's research interest lie in the area of information economics, with emphasis on the trading process and price formation. His research has been published in Econometrica, the Review of Economic Studies , the Rand Journal of Economics, the Economic Record, the Economic Journal and the American Economic Review.

In addition, Professor Kyle served as a Staff Member of the Presidential Task Force on Market Mechanisms (Brady Commission). He is a director of the Institute for the Study of Security Markets. He has consulted for a number of firms including Salomon Brothers, BARRA, Long Term Credit Bank of Japan.

Professor Kyle is the winner of the 1990-1991 Batterymarch Fellowship. In addition, he was awarded the Schwabacher Fellowship at Berkeley and National Science Foundation Graduate Fellowship. He was also awarded a Rhodes Scholarship.
