The Java Whiteboard System (JAWS)

JAWS is a distributed whiteboard system written in the Java programming language. Our team is composed of Duke University seniors, Jeff Loughridge and Chris Jam Jenkins. We began this project in September 1997 because we felt the existing whiteboard applications on the Internet were nothing more than glorifed demos. We knew the Java langauge was more than just a tool for little WWW tricks and that a superior whiteboard could be built. JAWS is the culmination of our year's work. We are quite proud of the result for its stabilty and potential usefulness. Just as Netscape has now done, we release the program and code to the Internet community. Feel free to modify it and tell us what you think.
