I am very pleased with the quality of our
project. I think that we produced a
quality paper that has substance and accurately presents issues concerning
wireless networks. Steps could have
been taken to ensure the flow and style of the paper matched all the way
through, but we deemed this secondary to presenting a substantive project.
I am also very pleased with our 20-minute
presentation. We worked very diligently
on both producing effective slides and presenting our material in an
understandable way.
Personal
Contribution
I personally contributed in the range of 30+
hours on this project. I was
responsible for the technical aspects of wireless networks and how the 802.11
standard handles these issues. Wireless
networking notwithstanding, I had no previous knowledge of networking in
general, so this project was a great learning experience for me. Through the research of this project, I
achieved a greater understanding of network architecture and how the 802.11
standard works with this architecture.
Furthermore, this project has prompted me to pester my parents for a
laptop for Christmas so I can enjoy the wireless network here at school.
Group
Dynamics
We actually evenly divided up the work amongst the three group members. (This is the first group I have been in where everybody adequately contributed their share.) All three of us took upon the leadership role at various times and were more than willing to accept feedback and to give feedback to each other. We had multiple productive meetings and effectively collaborated together when developing the presentation slides. We even overcame the snow/ice storm that knocked out the power of one of our group mates for a few days.
